This month starts out with a bang — thanks to a turbulent aspect between Mars (your ruler) and a retrograde Uranus. You may feel like biting someone’s head off, but be careful: chances are good you’ll end up regretting your part in any confrontations later, especially when it becomes clear that you’d over-reacted. Best to hold your tongue and funnel some of that excess energy into making changes around the home. You’ve got three planets in that area for most of the month. The New Moon occurs in your romance sector on the 6th, followed by Mercury on the 7th. On the 16th, Venus moves into your relationship sector, kicking off a week of romantic possibilities. A new love interest may appear, and you’ll be sending out feelers of your own. Be prepared for some hiccups though, between the 23rd and 26th. If your expectations are too high, you’re bound to be disappointed. A romance could end before it even gets off the ground, so decide what’s more important: being right or being happy. Mars joins in on the 27th, reigniting those flames. You’ll be back to your smooth talking self and can make great strides toward healing any conflicts.
Moon in Aries: August 23, 24 and 25
This should be a busy month for you, even if you feel like you’re spinning your wheels. You’re going to be bursting with energy and ideas and will be looking for positive outlets. This would be good time to enroll in a class, take an on-line course or embark on a self-study program. There’s some danger of getting side-tracked, but maybe that’s not such a bad thing after all. You know the old saying: “life happens when you’re busy making other plans.” A heart-felt discussion with a sibling or family member clears the air around the 5th. You may be feeling vulnerable, but as long as you’s sincere a lot of healing can be done. Your ruler (Venus) is moving through your 5th house in the early part of the month. This is a great transit for making changes to your wardrobe or beauty regimen. It can also bring a spot of good luck your way! You have positive romance transits all the way up to the 24th, when things can go a little haywire. Hold off on trying to “fix” things, at least until the 27th, and even then you might want to just leave well enough alone.
Moon in Taurus: August 25, 26 and 27
You start the month with the Moon in your sign, in mutual reception with Mercury (your ruler). This is an auspicious transit, although fleeting. For the first few days of the month you may feel like you’re on top of the world. By the 3rd you’ll have 5 planets moving through your money houses, making that the perfect place to funnel your energy. It’s not the time to gamble though or invest in risky financial ventures. Nor is it the time to lend money to a partner — business or otherwise. Keep your finances separate for now because a Jupiter / Pluto opposition on the 7th could mean more than the loss of a few dollars. It can jeopardize your relationship. Hold on to your money or put it in savings rather than spending it frivolously. You don’t need to be stingy with yourself though: between the New Moon on the 6th and your ruler moving into Leo on the 8th, you can afford to pamper yourself — just don’t go overboard. Venus moves into your romance sector on the 16th. It’s a time for “spreading the love,” whether you’re currently involved or not. Lay low between the 24th-26th and you’ll be just fine.
Moon in Gemini: August 1, 2, 3, 27, 28, 29 and 30
With three planets moving through your sign (and the Moon joining in on the 3rd) you’re going to be feeling like you’re right in your element this month. You may be taking care of loved ones, making changes around the home, or researching your family tree. You’re likely to be feeling optimistic as well, but don’t overdo it. Jupiter’s foray through your sign can make it hard to stick to a diet, a budget or exercise routine. Jupiter may be exalted in Cancer, but that doesn’t make it any easier for you to put the brakes on. On the 7th, when Jupiter and Pluto form an opposition across your relationship axis, you could be butting heads with a partner. This is not the time to show your muscles though; you’re bound to come out on the losing end. Compromise is key; resolve conflicts rather than letting them fester. Venus enters your 4th house on the 16th, making it a great time for entertaining or inviting guests over for a dinner party. If you’re feeling a bit crabby, hold off until the latter part of the month when Mars finally leaves your sign, and then you can pull out all the stops.
Moon in Cancer: August 3, 4, 5, 30, 31
Happy Birthday Leo! While you may start the month feeling a bit less outgoing and sociable than usual, that all changes within the first week. You have three planets (Mars, Jupiter and Mercury) all moving through your 12th house, indicating a greater need for solitude and “alone time.” These transits aren’t bad — they can make you feel more inspired and bring you closer to your inner-most dreams and desires. This marks a period of increase creativity, intuition and vivid dreams. The Sun is in your sign and New Moon takes place there on the 6th, making it the perfect time to start something new. Your job situation is a little tricky: a trine to Uranus makes for good cooperation and team work, but a confrontation with a co-worker on the 7th could leave you rattled. The Full Moon on the 20th occurs in your relationship sector, but your relationship rulers (Jupiter and Uranus) form a square at the same time. You’ll have to balance your (and your partner’s) needs for both closeness and independence, if you want your relationship to survive. Get this resolved by the 27th (when Mars enters your sign) or you may not have a say in it.
Moon in Leo: August 5, 6 (New) and 7
This month should rife with social opportunities for you — both of the friendship and the romantic persuasions. With Venus moving through your sign, 5 planets in social sectors, and Neptune setting up a grand water trine in your relationship sector, it’s going to be all about interacting with loved ones. Female friends and family members will play an important role, offering support and companionship. While you do have strong “romance” aspects, your friendship aspects are stronger and better situated. For that reason, when faced with a choice, you may decide to forego a new relationship in favor of trusted friends. Your ruler changes signs twice this month: it moves into Leo on the 8th and into Virgo on the 23rd. From the 8th to the 23rd you may feel a little less confident, and a lot more introspective. Even though Leo is a confident sign, in your case it’s also 12th house (hidden things and secrets). Once Mercury moves into your sign (which it co-rules with Gemini) you’ll be back in the game. It joins the Sun there on the 24th and sextiles Jupiter on the 30th. If you’re thinking about jumping back into the relationship pool, that’s the time to do it.
Moon in Virgo: August 7, 8, 9 and 10
You’re going to be focusing more on your career this month and less on your personal relationships. With five planets (and a grand water trine) stretched across your work, career and money houses, it would be a great time to show the world what you’re made of. You may not even have to “ask” for it: career opportunities could just fall into your lap. But working with manifesting and law of attraction principles is always recommended. Align yourself with these transits to make the most of them. Your rule (Venus) moves into your sign on the 16th, adding a whole new dimension to the month’s good fortune. With Jupiter exalted in Cancer, and Mercury, Venus and Neptune all in their ruling signs, you almost couldn’t ask for a better line-up. While it’s not perfect — it never is — these planets are all in some way tied to putting your best foot forward. Unfortunately, your professional focus may also interfere with your relationships. A t-square involving planets in your relationship, career and home sectors will not likely be ignored. You may have to do some damage control, but if you’re proactive you’ll find that you really can have it all.
Moon in Libra: August 10, 11 and 12
All of your personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars) are above the horizon at the start of the month. Add Jupiter for good measure and you’ve got all the markings of a powerful social presence. You may be ordinarily very private but you’re not going to be hiding behind the scenes this month. You’ve got something to teach others — whether that means just imparting your wisdom in one-on-one conversations, or getting up on a podium and reaching the masses. You could also decide to write a blog, publish a paper, or submit a magazine article during this time. Your ruler is still in mutual reception with Saturn although it’s also now retrograde. You may find yourself involved in a heated religious or political debate on the 7th. Choose your battles wisely though as you could end up losing a friend in the aftermath. This is especially true if have words with a co-worker. Once the damage is done it can’t be undone, so do what you can to avert any conflicts, especially on the job. Relationships can be particularly volatile between the 21st-24th. “Make love, not war” should be your mantra during the latter part of the month.
Moon in Scorpio: August 12, 13 and 14
If you’re not careful, you may feel like you’re robbing Peter to pay Paul this month. You could have more money going out than you have coming in; or you may incur expenses that have you scrambling to make ends meet. You could also be forced to cut corners or to tap into money that’s ear-marked for something else. Your ruler (Jupiter) is in Cancer now, where it’s exalted. This is ordinarily a great thing — made even more so by it’s movement through your 8th house (joint resources and other people’s money). But it’s also involved (all the way up to the 22nd) in a stressful configuration with Uranus and Pluto. Between your natural optimism and your tendency to do everything in a big way, you could be blind-sided by this aspect in more ways than one. Time to pull the reins in a bit and focus on preserving rather than expending. At the end of the month, the Sun and Mercury move into your career sector and Venus moves into your friendship sector. Redirect your attention away from sticky financial situations and toward career and social obligations. You can regain whatever has been lost and work on making more.
Moon in Sagittarius: August 14, 15 and 16
Your relationships — with friends, family members, relationship partners, and even yourself — will be your primary focus this month. With 6 planets occupying these sectors, most of your attention will be on these areas. Your ruler (Saturn) has been retrograde for the last several months, but has finally turned direct. It’s also in mutual reception with Pluto, making for some very intense interactions with loved ones. You could be involved in a power struggle right out of the gate: a hard aspect between Pluto and Jupiter — stretched across your relationship axis — puts you on the hot seat from day one. You’re going to have to balance your need for personal space and freedom with your partners needs for closeness and intimacy. In this situation neither of you is right or wrong, but you’re both likely to feel like sticking to your guns. If you’re not currently in a relationship, these conflicts can still manifest: with loved ones, romantic interests or business partners, especially between the 7th and 11th. Later in then month, your focus shifts toward spiritual and philosophical pursuits. This would be a great time to think about taking a class, pursuing a degree or visiting a foreign country.
Moon in Capricorn: August 16, 17, 18 and 19
In the early part of the month, you’re going to focusing on work and also health-related issues. There’s much to be done on the career-front: either you’re pushing to beat a self-imposed deadline or scrambling to tie up loose ends on a project you’ve had in the works for some time. This isn’t about obligations you have toward others: it’s about making improvements on your own that are in line with your own high standards. Health-wise though, it’s a bit of a different story. You could be so involved in work that you end up neglecting your body. A health-scare can act as a wake-up call or at the very least get you thinking about taking better care of yourself. The Full Moon on the 20th falls in your sign. That can be a great (and fulfilling) aspect — but it’s not a good time to undergo treatment. It’s also “void of course” at that juncture and therefore not the best time to set things in motion. Nevertheless, starting a diet, doing a juice cleanse or stepping up your exercise routine is highly recommended. You’ll be feeling better about yourself and all that you’ve accomplished once you start seeing results.
Moon in Aquarius: August 19, 20 (Full) and 21
Love is in the air for you this month! With your ruler (Neptune) in its own sign and your co-ruler (Jupiter) exalted in your romance sector, you’ll be sending out “vibes” whether you realize it or not. Add to that Venus in your relationship sector, Mercury and Mars also in your romance sector, and the Moon joining in for good measure. If you’re in an existing relationship, these transits can bring you closer to your partner and enhance the connection. And if you’re not already involved they can bring new prospective partners in. Those 5th house planets should have you feeling more expressive and more creative, which makes you more attractive to others. The 7th house Venus — especially in the early part of the month — can get you back on your feet after a series of recent missteps. There are definite elements here of needing to put the past to rest. Whether that means past relationships or unresolved feelings that no longer serve you. Get this done early on, because there are hard relationship aspects around the 24th that can catch you completely off-guard. It’s out with the old and in with the new this month, and not a moment too soon.
