February 2014 Monthly Horoscope

Monthly Horoscopes

Happy Birthday Aquarius! Here are some highlights for the month ahead.

Lunations: There will be no February New Moon! This 28-day month gets squeezed in between the Aquarius New Moon at the end of January and the Pisces New Moon at the beginning of March. This month’s Full Moon will be on February 14th and 26° Leo.

Retrogrades: Venus has been retrograde for the last 41 days, but turns stationary direct at 14° Capricorn on January 31 / February 1. Mercury goes retrograde on February 6th at 3° Pisces and goes direct on Feb 28 at 18° Aquarius. Mars also stations on February 28 at 28° Libra. Jupiter is retrograde for the entire month.

Ingresses: Mercury — still retrograde — moves back into Aquarius on February 12th, and the Sun moves into Pisces on February 18th.

aries-glyphAries — March 21-April 19: You start the month with Venus and Pluto conjunct in your career sector, opposite Jupiter in your 4th house. This is a bit of a double-edged sword for you. These two planets rule your money houses — which is a good thing — but the opposition to Jupiter can make it hard to hold onto. You may also be dealing with conflicts with family members over how much you spend and what you spend it on. Your ruler — Mars — is moving through your relationship sector, where it will remain until the end of July (thanks to a retrograde taking place early next month). This can indicate problems in your relationships, such as a partner who wants to do his or her own thing. It could be hard to stay in sync throughout the duration of this transit. It’s not the best time to start a new relationship — better yet to work on those you’re already involved in. That goes for business partnerships too. The Full Moon on Valentine’s Day takes place in your romance sector. This would be the perfect time to do some damage control! Just remember you’re not alone — you need to work on cooperation and collaboration if you want to keep your relationships on an even keel.

Moon in Aries:  February 2, 3, 4 and 5

taurus-glyphTaurus — April 20-May 20: Are you planning a trip this month or thinking about connecting with someone from far away? Your relationship rulers are conjunct in your 9th house — the area related to long-distance travel and foreign affairs. Additionally, Venus (your primary ruler) is moving forward again after having been retrograde since mid-December. A relationship that has stalled may get a second-wind, or you may decide to put a long-distance romance to the test and figure out a way to come together. Jupiter opposes these two planets though, meaning you’ll have to rearrange some pre-made plans if you want to make that happen. Think about what the concept of “home” means to you too. The Full Moon will be in your 4th house this month — the area related to home, family and roots. It’s also tied to emotional security and that which makes you feel “safe.” A long distance love affair may be enticing, but in the end your heart is probably much closer to home. With Mercury retrograding through your 11th house (along with Neptune and Chiron) you could elect to reconnect with old friends, and choose to work on familiar relationships instead.

Moon in Taurus: February 5, 6 and 7

gemini-glyphGemini — May 21-June 21: You start the month with a whopping eight planets in work and money houses. Starting with the Moon, Mercury (your ruler), Neptune and Chiron all in your career sector, you’re bound to be bursting with ideas related to sprucing up your professional reputation. It’s not perfect though: Mercury turns retrograde on the 7th and at the same time, Jupiter (which is already retrograde and in your money sector) is opposing Pluto and Venus in your 8th house (other people’s money). This gets tricky: it can put you at odds with those you’re involved with in financial ventures, or see you making unwise business and / or investment decisions. Additionally, Saturn, which is moving through your work sector now, is disconnected (forming no aspects to other planets for a good part of the month) and slowing down to turn retrograde itself early in March. Your best bet here is to look at ways to re-invent yourself in the work-force, but to hold off on making major changes for the better part of the month. You can get a head start on launching the new and improved you this way — especially after Mercury turns direct again (on February 28th) and moves back into your professional sector in mid-March.

Moon in Gemini: February 7, 8, 8 and 10

cancer-glyphCancer — Jun 22-July 23: This month, you could be trying to figure out how to put the pieces back together in a problematic relationship. With Jupiter moving backwards (retrograde) through your sign, and in direct opposition to Venus and Pluto in your relationship sector, this could be easier said than done. Stark differences between basic political or ideological viewpoints could be the main issue. You’re unlikely to convince anyone to change their minds — at least while this opposition is in effect. Your best bet is to agree to disagree and work on repairing the connection. This shouldn’t be too hard with that Venus turning direct. In the meantime, you want to also lay off the sugar! Jupiter retrograding through your sign may make it hard to diet (or to exercise moderation in the comfort-food department). But add the opposition to Venus and you may find yourself developing cravings for — and problems with — sugar. This would be a good time to get a check up, as Jupiter rules your 6th house, the area associated with health issues. Taking care of your health, and getting back into shape should be your main priorities.

Moon in Cancer: February 10, 11 and 12

leo-glyphLeo — Jul 24-August 23: You want to get a handle on your financial situation this month, particularly after the 7th, when Mercury comes *this* close to conjuncting Neptune as it turns retrograde. It may seem like money is running through your fingers — or there may be more serious consequences to unbridled spending: such as a giant bill you’re not in a position to pay. Mercury is not comfortable in Pisces, and the retrograde may mean needing to go back and untangle an earlier mess. Be careful not to repeat past mistakes or bad habits, particularly where money is concerned. In the meantime, Mercury moves back into Aquarius and your relationship sector on the 12th. You could hear from an old flame or feel the urge to reach out yourself. This isn’t about reigniting old passions though — it’s about tying up loose ends. The Full Moon on the 14th is in your sign! This is a great opportunity for you to review your current relationship (or relationship prospects) under a whole new light. If you’re lucky you’ll have someone to share it with and if you don’t, you may just find someone under this transit.

Moon in Leo:  February 12, 13, 14 (Full) and 15

virgo-glyphVirgo — August 24-September 22: You’ll have eight planets in your social sectors at the start of the month. Most significant is the conjunction between your relationship rulers (Neptune and Mercury) in your relationship sector. You could be under the impression that things are fine in this area — at least until the 7th when they almost complete a conjunction, just as Mercury goes retrograde. Pay attention to signals your partner is sending you (or those that a prospective love interest is putting out). With Mercury retrograde — in Pisces, the sign associated with crossed wires and mixed messages — there are bound to be misunderstandings. You would do well to be proactive and get your concerns out in the open. But this doesn’t mean you should be chasing after someone who’s obviously backing away. Minor conflicts can iron themselves out by the time Mercury turns direct (on the 28th). And major ones are going to need a lot more than a few half-hearted reassurances. A friend may feel neglected with a Venus/Pluto and Jupiter opposition stretched across your love and romance / friendship sector. But if you take the time to include them and make them feel important, you should be able to clear that up in no time.

Moon in Virgo: February 15, 16 and 17

libra-glyphLibra — September 23-October 22: Right now you’re probably feeling like there are never enough hours in the day to do what needs to be done. You may also be pushing certain responsibilities aside as you strive to focus on deadlines. With Mars in your 1st house (where it will be for the next six months), Jupiter retrograding through your career sector, and a lineup of planets in your work sector, it’s going to feel like all work and no play for you this month. This is probably partially your own fault. You’ve either taken on too much or procrastinated to the point of having to scramble now just to catch up — and the chickens are coming home to roost. Mars is not happy in Libra: It may cause you to seem more impatient, irritable and unfocused. It can also manifest as carelessness, as in reckless accidents around the house. Mercury goes retrograde on the 7th and moves back into your romance sector on the 12th. This would be a good time to try to liven up your romance, especially if loved ones have been feeling neglected. It’s also good for interacting with children or getting in some “play” time for yourself.

Moon in Libra: February 17, 18 and 19

scorpio-glyphScorpio — October 23-November 22: Some secrets come out in the open this month — courtesy of a Pluto / Venus / Jupiter aspect stretched across your communications axis. You’ll want to choose your words wisely, as the tendency for Jupiter is to either blow things out of proportion or magnify their significance. You could be at odds with someone — politically, spiritually or culturally — and ask yourself later if it was worth it. Words shape consciousness so be mindful of yours. That Pluto / Venus conjunction rules relationships for you, which means they could be heating up this month. Mercury retrogrades on the 7th in your romance sector too. You may find yourself backing down (retrograde) from a new romance, or having to redefine your needs. This isn’t the best time to start something new, but that probably won’t stop you. If you’re already involved try to ride out any disagreements as they’re unlikely to be important down the road. Mars is moving through your 12th house now and getting ready to go retrograde itself. You’re in for 6 months of this so you might as well get used to it. Among other things, you’ll want to keep your paranoia in check and work on developing better sleep habits.

 Moon in Scorpio: February 19, 20, 21 and 22

sag-glyphSagittarius — November 23-December 20: You’ll probably be feeling a little more introspective and a lot less outgoing than usual this month. With eight planets below the horizon for you and with your ruler currently retrograde in Cancer, you’re not likely to be feeling sociable. Your relationship ruler (Mercury) also turns retrograde on the 7th in your 4th house — the sector related to home, family and emotional security. Withdrawing a bit from the public eye might not be a bad idea, since Mars is also moving through your friendship sector. You’ll have to be careful not to rub someone the wrong way — either a friend (Mars) or a lover (Mercury), as both of these planets are debilitated in their respective signs, Your best bet is to work on your own issues during this time, particularly your emotional needs and your ability to express those needs to others. You’d also do well to get some things done around the house and to spend time with family members. Your main focus though will be on yourself and your inner dialogue. All this 4th house activity can be tremendously rewarding, if you use it to assess the things you want to change in order to meet your long term goals.

Moon in Sagittarius:  February 22, 23 and 24

cap-glyphCapricorn — December 21-January 20: Venus has finally turned direct and is starting to move forward through your sign again. After having been retrograde for the last 41 days, you’re probably ready for things to start “moving forward” in your relationship again as well. But that’s easier said than done. Between the conjunction to Pluto and the opposition to Jupiter — which is retrograding through your relationship sector — you may not be exactly seeing eye to eye with your partner. Political, spiritual or philosophical differences can be polarizing — particularly after Mercury goes retrograde on the 7th. It’s one thing to be firm in your convictions, but this aspect borders on fanaticism, so think about the long term effects before you draw your weapon. Your ruler is in mutual reception with Pluto, but is completely isolated in your 11th house. If you’re feeling a bit alone in a crowd, this is why. Take heart though, as that is only temporary. You should be back on top of your social game by the 22nd or 23rd. The Full Moon (on the 14th) takes place across your financial axis. This would be a good area to direct your attention — not only with respect to making money, but also saving and investing it.

Moon in Capricorn:  February 24, 25 and 26

aq-glyphAquarius — January 21-February 19: You’ll be putting a lot of time and energy into making money this month and if you stick to it you’re bound to succeed. With Saturn moving through your career sector and a lineup of Pisces planets moving through your financial sector, these are the areas you’ll be focusing on. You may also be feeling very charitable, and if you can afford it this is a great way to actualize some of that 2nd house Pisces energy. Donating to a worthy cause, offering employment to someone who’s down and out, or even helping a friend out of a financial bind. Your ruler (Uranus) is in Aries and has been involved in a tense t-square dynamic with Pluto and Jupiter for the last several months. But it’s easing up now so this month should be a little less erratic for you. Mercury moves back into your sign on the 12th and the Full Moon takes place in your relationship sector on the 14th. If you’re thinking about communicating your needs to a prospective partner, that’s a good time to do it. Just remember that Mercury is retrograde so it’s best to hold off on making promises or planning for the future until later in the month.

Moon in Aquarius: February 26, 27 and 28

pisces-glyphPisces — February 20-March 20: You’re going to be in fine form this month — with a line up of planets in your sign along with Jupiter moving through your romance sector. You should be feeling more at ease with yourself and more comfortable expressing your feelings. That Jupiter is also retrograde, so don’t be surprised if an old flame comes knocking on your door or burning up your phone lines. Mercury — your relationship ruler — turns retrograde in your sign on the 7th and eases back into your 12th house a few days later. It’s important to be discerning: you may need to resist the temptation to get involved with someone who’s not exactly available. That 12th house Mercury, combined with a Venus Pluto aspect in your 11th house (the sector related to unexpected events and opportunities), makes a compelling case for both clandestine affairs and personal denial. Stick to the high road and remember you’ve got a lot to offer someone who is available, particularly once Mercury goes direct. The Full Moon takes place across your health and illness axis, bringing any health-related issues to the forefront. it’s a good time to assess your spiritual, emotional and mental well-being too — as these may all be in need of a tune-up.

Moon in Pisces: February 1, 2 and 28

Where is 21st of December? Sagitarius ends on 20th and Capricorn starts on 22nd ? What happened to 21st ?

good catch! I fixed it.. what happens is that the Sun changes signs at a different time every year, based on when it actually crosses over that degree. This past year it moved into Capricorn on the 21st. Next year it spends a good part of the day in Sag.. Another good reason time is so important!

      thanks for pointing that out!
