Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Feb 28, 2016 – Mar 5, 2016:
We start the week with a Sun / Neptune conjunction in Pisces on Sunday. This aspect can see you feeling inspired to make your dreams a reality or it can see you escaping into a world of fantasy and delusion. It’s a highly receptive aspect that may see you lacking in boundaries but full of creative potential and Utopian ideals.
Sunday’s Scorpio Moon also trines both of these planets, making for an increased desire for privacy and alone time. It’s good for getting in touch with your dreams, both literally and figuratively.
This combination of aspects can deplete your energy levels and may see you spending the day dreaming about your long-term goals rather than making any headway toward accomplishing them. But it’s good for fantasizing about the future and envisioning the changes you’d need to make in order to make your dreams a reality.
On Monday Mercury inconjuncts the North Node and semisextiles the South Node. This aspect can see you feeling at odds between what you see as your life’s purpose (the North Node) and where you are with respect to the adjustments that need to made in order to fulfill it. In what ways are you getting in your way and interfering with your progress?
As Mercury is tied to communications and ideas, chances are good you’re going to have to start walking the walk rather than just talking the talk. Think about which of your ideas are outdated or are not aligned with what you perceive as your calling. Because this is a waxing (6th house) aspect, the emphasis should be on working with what you have and on what changes you need to make, rather than actually eliminating anything.
Venus sextiles Saturn on Tuesday, making for some solid and productive changes in your relationships. It’s a good time to sit down and have a heart-to-heart with a loved one, as the Venus part of this aspect brings grace and diplomacy to an interchange that’s likely to have heavy undertones (Saturn).
This is a time for thinking more seriously about where you stand and what you want out of your relationships. It’s cooperative though, not combative. So there’s a lot of room for compromising your ideals with those of your partner, and for making rational mature decisions about where you go from here.
This aspect is still in effect on Thursday when Venus moves ahead and sextiles Uranus. This aspect breaks up any of the crystallization that may have formed in your relationship and dismantles whatever roadblocks may have stood in your way. Venus/ Uranus is good at getting rid of the debris and clearing a path for you to achieve a more open and progressive expression of love.
Because Venus is still in sextile to Saturn and is also forming an inconjunct to Jupiter, it also pulls in the Jupiter / Uranus inconjunct (which won’t be partile until Sunday the 6th) into what is called a Yod (or “finger of God”) configuration. The Yod aspect — with Uranus at the focal point — can be challenging and repetitive, but it can also bring earth-shattering changes. It compels you to take a unique approach to ironing out your problems and to go where no man (or woman) has gone before.
It forces you to think outside the box (Uranus) for ways to bring the Saturn / Jupiter energies together. If you’re struggling to figure out ways to make your aspirations (Jupiter) more tangible and concrete (Saturn), this aspect says the solution lies in Uranian endeavors. Thinking for yourself, defying authority, rebelling against status quo expectations. etc. In short, this aspect challenges you to bend the rules and start thinking outside the box if you want to accomplish your goals.
On Saturday, Mercury squares Mars. This aspect was also in effect during the last Mercury retrograde cycle in early January, but this time we have then both moving direct and at anaretic degrees, which can make them even more volatile.
This aspect can be tempestuous so consider taking a breath and count to 10 before you speak — especially if what you say can come across to others as angry or abrasive. It can manifest as harsh words, confrontations, temper tantrums and impatience. And it can also be careless and / or reckless which translates to “accident prone.” Watch your step during this transit, in more ways than one.
On the heels of its square to Mars, Mercury leaves Aquarius and moves into Pisces, a sign it’s not necessarily comfortable in but which should be a far cry less acrimonious. Mercury in Pisces is visionary, mystical and ethereal. It is very perceptive and should have you feeling more introspective and intuitive. But it’s also gullible and highly impressionable so make sure you get your facts straight before you race off down any rabbit holes.
This signature is not big on being explicit, facing reality or paying attention to details. And you find yourself being easily distracted and going off on wild tangents during this time. But the upside of a Mercury in Pisces transit is that it reminds us that we’re all floundering in the same vast ocean together, with most of us doing the best that we can. It increases compassion, sensitivity and empathy and makes us all just a little easier to get along with.
That’s it for this week, see you next Sunday!
