Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Jun 10, 2019 – Jun 16. 2019:
We start this week on Monday, with a Sun / Jupiter opposition across the Gemini / Sagittarius axis. This aspect can indicate conflicts with others due to overblown egos. You may be dealing with someone who comes across as overbearing oe self-important during this time. You won’t make much headway if you try to challenge them; in fact this aspect can degenerate into a battle of wills.
With the Sun in Gemini and Jupiter in Sagittarius, politics and religious or ideological debates are likely to get heated and are unlikely to result in any meeting of the minds. Remember that ego is involved here and no one is going to want to concede defeat.
That Sun / Jupiter opposition is also part of a mutable grand cross. A grand cross is a configuration that involves two sets of planets (or points) that are in square and opposition with one another. In this case, the Sun and Jupiter each also square the Moon and Neptune, which are in opposition to one another.
The Jupiter portion of this configuration can amplify the effects of the the Sun / Moon / Neptune portion, which can see you feeling unsure about yourself and questioning your own self-worth as well as how you may be perceived by others. It can cause you to ignore — either through confusion, denial or avoidance — outright signs of deception and duplicity. It can also manifest as insecurity, self-doubts, and hypersensitivity to criticism.
Tuesday starts with a void of course Moon at 29 Virgo (an anaretic or “fated” degree). The void of course Moon is a common occurrence; it marks the period of time between the Moon’s last aspect in one sign and its ingress into the next. Any aspects involving the Moon are temporary are likely to fly by almost imperceptibly. But that doesn’t mean this period of time will be uneventful. There are still always transits in play: planets interacting with one another and blending or communicating their unique energies.
The Moon moves into Libra in the early morning hours, where it trines Venus, opposes Chiron and squares Mercury before the day is through. As a result, you may find yourself going through a whole gamut of conflicting emotions, from feeling loving and conciliatory (Moon in Libra trine Venus), to being moody and hyper-sensitive (Moon square Chiron and opposite Mercury).
The Moon in Libra is known for fairness and objectivity, and those qualities are likely to come in handy on Wednesday when it squares Mars, Saturn, Pluto and the North and South Nodes. Thankfully there’s also a sextile to Jupiter and a trine to the Sun somewhere in there too.
The bottom line is that lunar transits are fleeting, so don’t let your emotions prompt you to act impulsively or irrationally. These lunar transits are likely to produce only short-lived effects, and you don’t want to make decisions you might later regret.
Venus sextiles Chiron on Thursday. This transit may see you becoming more aware of your own capacity for giving and for being able to put yourself in other people’s shoes. This is a charitable aspect that compels you to reach into the very depths of your soul — where compassion, forgiveness and understanding all reside — and bring forth that which is within you in order to pass it on.
With Venus in Gemini and Chiron in Aries, this can be a very proactive aspect. It can be determined and motivated, and since it’s a sextile (the aspect associated with cooperation and collaboration) it can see you brainstorming with others to instigate change. The Aries / Gemini signature is all about taking ideas and running with them, you can accomplish a great deal
On Friday, Mars conjuncts the North Node and opposes Saturn and the South Node. The Mars / Nodes aspect is known for taking an active role in group discussions. Remember that there needs to be a good balance between give and take: don’t try to force your views on others, or you could wind up alienating them.
But the opposition to Saturn can lead to tensions and frustrations. It pits the planet associated with action and aggression (Mars) against the planet associated with limitations and restrictions (Saturn). It’s often likened to having the pedal to the metal and driving full speed ahead (Mars) and plowing into a brick wall (Saturn).
It can be tremendously frustrating as you’re raring to go and the Universe is putting roadblocks in your path. No matter what you try to accomplish during this time, know that Saturn has the upper hand and that you will be met with challenges. It’s not the time to engage in any confrontational (or legally questionable) behaviors as you’re unlikely to come out unscathed.
Fortunately Mars is also involved in a grand water trine with the Moon and Neptune on this day. This configuration can help to smooth some of that aforementioned tension, buf keep in mind that both Mars and the Moon are debilitated by sign. With Neptune in the mix, it can manifest as confusion, uncertainty or even a call to martyrdom.
By Sunday, Mercury steps in and replaces Mars with the same set of aspects: it opposes Saturn, conjuncts the North Node, and trines Neptune. You may find yourself better able to articulate the frustrations you’re dealing with, but may also find yourself more focused on them during this time.
The trine to Neptune is quite pleasant. It opens up the psychic pathways that lead us to our dreams. Mercury trine Neptune is incredibly perceptive. It provides unparalleled access to the collective unconscious. You may find yourself experiencing profound psychic insights or instances of synchronicity and deja vu.
But at the same time — with Jupiter squaring Neptune — there’s an urge to break through the monotony and ponder more spiritual or philosophical pursuits. While there is a potential to become disenchanted or disillusioned with the combination of these aspects, your best bet is to find a middle ground and get these seemingly-divergent energies working together.
That’s it for this week. See you next week!
