Here is the Ask the Astrologers Forecast for the week of Jun 7, 2021 – Jun 13, 2021:
The week starts with a beautiful crescent (Balsamic) Moon in Taurus that conjuncts Uranus and then squares Saturn on Monday. The Taurus Moon is known for wanting to take things slowly and for focusing less on action and more on comfort and relaxation.
These are Taurus Moon activities, with the idea of contentment, luxury, and getting in touch with nature and the earth being the corresponding theme. This Moon is earthy, composed and tranquil, although it can also be overly cautious. It prefers to savor meaningful experiences, much like someone would savor a meal or a bottle of fine wine.
Mars is now officially void of course as it moves through the last degrees of Cancer, heading toward Leo. And while Mars is not particularly comfortable in Cancer, by Tuesday the discomfort ishttps://www.asktheastrologers.com/wp-admin/post.php alleviated some as it’s both disposited by and in sextile to a very well situated Moon.
The Moon is exalted in Taurus, and it’s also in mutual reception with Venus. And even though Venus is currently out of bounds, it’s bolstered by that mutual reception as the planets involved are placed in one another’s signs. In this case, the Moon is in the sign Venus rules (Taurus) while Venus is in the sign the Moon rules (Cancer).
However, Venus is out of bounds, and by Wednesday it’s about as far out of bounds as it can get (at a declination of +24.25). The out of bounds condition — particularly with respect to Venus — famously coincides with conflicts in relationship.
It can manifest as one partner suddenly expressing an urge to break free or engaging in reckless behaviors. It can be erratic and unpredictable. It can see you responding to ambiguous social cues, or sending them out yourself. This can be especially problematic if you find yourself developing expectations that are not aligned with your partner’s.
On Thursday, we have an New Moon annular solar eclipse, at 19° Gemini 47. This is going to be a “Ring of Fire” solar eclipse, so named for the thin ring of the Sun’s light that’s still visible when the eclipse is total. This is due to differences in size between the Sun’s diameter and that of the Moon’s shadow passing over it.
Not all of us will be have a good opportunity for viewing this Ring of Fire eclipse though. Because it takes place so early in the morning — and reaches annularity at a time when for many of us it will still be below the eastern horizon, only those in certain Northern latitudes (parts of Canada, Russia and Greenland) will be able to view it.
Still, eclipses are powerful events and depending on where they fall in your natal chart, you’re likely to experiences profound changes in these areas. They can shake things up and create shifts in consciousness that last up to six months, although they’re strongest over the next few weeks.
As Solar Eclipses are all about bringing whatever has been hidden or repressed back into the light, we can expect to see some uncomfortable truths exposed during this time — in our own lives and in the world around us.
This can be a wakeup call if you’ve been walking around in a daze, but will be a welcome one in the long-run. Eclipses tend to force you to “get clear” about your situation and make the necessary changes, even if those changes are ones you’ve been dreading in the past. They can also bring past emotional issues to light, forcing you to confront them head on.
This is especially significant this time around as both the Sun and Moon (coming together in an eclipse) are within one degree of conjuncting the retrograde Mercury, with the three of them in Gemini, the sign related to thoughts, ideas and communications in general.
Mars moves into Leo on Friday. This is a much more comfortable placement for Mars than Cancer was, as its natural orientation toward action, assertion and drive is much more aligned with the Leo fire sign energy than the Cancer water sign energy, which is much more passive, emotional and indirect.
Mars in Leo is regal and dignified. It is dynamic and expressive. It’s a confidence-builder and attention grabber. Where is this transit taking place in your natal chart? This will tell you where you want to put your best foot forward over the next 6 weeks, and where your ego, pride and issues related to self-respect are likely to be triggered.
Also on Friday, the Sun conjuncts Mercury. As Mercury is currently retrograde, this is an inferior conjunction. From an astronomical standpoint this occurs when Mercury passes between the Earth and the Sun (from our vantage point) as opposed to the conjunction that occurs when the Sun is between the Earth and Mercury (or the superior conjunction).
A Sun / Mercury conjunction is generally very positive, especially for things like interacting and communicating with others, sharing ideas, and gathering information, But because it’s retrograde and because its so close to the Sun that it’s hidden from view (a condition known as “combust”) you want to be aware that not everything that pops into your head during this time is worth acting on.
Venus squares Chiron on Saturday. This transit is about challenges related to establishing clear boundaries and identifying personal values. You may struggle with figuring out what it is you really want and feeling deserving of it. This aspect can bring martyring tendencies to the surface. Causing you to regret or feel guilty about what would ordinarily make you feel good. And prompting you to make sacrifices that you’re likely to resent later on.
At this point, Venus is also at perihelion (closer to the Sun than it will be at any other time this year). It will also be lined up with the Moon in the night sky and visible just after dusk.
The Sun squares Neptune on Sunday just as Venus sextiles Uranus. Here we have a bit of a contradiction, with the Sun / Neptune aspect threatening to muddy certain waters while the Venus / Uranus aspect longs to strike out and try something new.
The Sun square Neptune can manifest as having questions about your identity, as who you are and what you stand for. But the Venus / Uranus sextile wants to break up whatever crystallization has been forming in your life and dismantle whatever roadblocks may be standing in your way. Venus/ Uranus is good at getting rid of the debris and clearing a path for you to achieve a more open and progressive expression of who you want to be.
That’s it for this week! see you next week.
