Venus enters Cancer on June 17, 2016 at 20:38 UT (3:38pm EDT). Venus in Cancer natives are known for being sensitive, affectionate and loving.

This is a very feminine archetype. Even the strongest, most independent and assertive Venus in Cancer people — both male and female — are apt to express themselves in traditionally feminine ways, nurturing, caring for and comforting others.

When it comes to relationships, they tend to mother their partners as well. On Sunday, Mars trines Chiron and Venus sextiles Uranus. The Mars trine Chiron aspect is a gentle warrior aspect. It can manifest as a desire to stand up for those who are unable to stand up for themselves. it can also make it easier for us to see and acknowledge other people’s points of view. This is especially comforting, as Mars is also moving into an inconjunct with Uranus (exact next week but only one degree away right now), and this trine can soften some of that erratic Uranus energy.

This week starts out on Sunday with a “bang,” starting with Mars having retrograded back into Scorpio, and Saturn and Jupiter involved in a tense square. Mars is at home in Scorpio — a sign it co-rules with Pluto — and is especially powerful there, but because it’s retrograde and at an anaretic degree, the potential for that power to be misused is strong. Hidden resentments — or long-forgotten slights — can come bubbling back up to the surface and if so, they will need to be dealt with during this time.

Venus enters Gemini on May 24, 2016 at 10:44 UT (5:44 am EDT). Venus is the esoteric ruler of Gemini, as the catalyst through which the concept of “Love” first emerges — through connecting, interacting and most importantly communicating with others.

Venus in Gemini people are charming and flirtatious. They’re playful, light-hearted and charismatic with a natural appreciation for the give-and-take that goes hand-in-hand in any relationship. This week starts with a relatively uneventful Sunday and a jam-packed Monday, as far as transits go. First of all the Sun conjuncts Mercury in Taurus. This is a recurrence of an earlier conjunction (in Aries) when Mercury was still moving forward, but now it’s retrograde and making a second pass. The third pass — once Mercury turns direct again — will occur two months from now (on July 6th) and then will repeat this cycle in the fall.
