The month begins with a new Moon on August 4th and a Mercury retrograde on August 5th, and a conjunction with Mercury and Venus on August 7th.
The new Moon happens at 12° Leo 34’, where the Sun also resides as both the Sun and the Moon are conjunct during any new Moon. This gives one an opportunity to focus on the self, your own personal goals and your desires so give yourself some time for introspection about what you want to manifest in your life. Make it so.
Venus is moving towards a conjunction with Mercury in the first week of the month. Since Venus and Mercury are friendly with each other, this conjunction provides opportunities for improvement in the areas of communication, travel, social connections and relationships. Mercury and Venus will have an exact conjunction on August 7th at 3° Virgo.
Mercury does well in Virgo as he rules that sign but Venus isn’t so comfy there as it is opposite her sign of exaltation in Pisces and Virgo energy tends to be picky and fussy about details. It’s a very princess and the pea kind of energy, if you remember that fairy tale. Just be aware of this tendency and plan to temper your annoyances about things not being perfect.
Mercury goes retrograde on August 5th, at 4° Virgo and goes back to 21° Leo on August 28th as that is the day he goes direct and proceeds to move over those degrees he retrograded over through the 10th of September.
Venus moves from 26° Leo to almost 3° Libra by the end of the month and will much happier when she gets into Libra on August 30th. Use the Virgo energy this month to eliminate bad habits or start a new diet that will improve your digestion and health in general. It is also useful energy to de-clutter your closets and home in general.
Mars is at 7° Gemini on August 1st and moves towards his conjunction with Jupiter, which will be exact on August 14th at 16° Gemini. These two planets do very well together energetically and can get things done with speed and efficiency. It can also have a military signature or be a little aggressive in its tactics.
Their joined vibe will increase communication opportunities, foreign contacts, publishing and the physical activities in your life if you have any planets between the 15-17th degree of Gemini. This could indicate some new information or some kind of change coming in. Just watch out that you don’t scatter your energy by taking on too many projects or activities.
Saturn is still retrograde at 18° Pisces 32’ and goes back to 16° Pisces 35’ throughout the month. Venus will oppose Saturn between August 19th and August 21st so there may be a disappointment or something that dampens your enjoyment of an occasion at that time. In other words, keep your expectations low if you are attending any social event. Be present and be aware of possible misunderstandings with others and do your best to just let things go without taking offense.
Uranus, the great awakener, has been pretty active in the last month as it had a recent conjunction with Mars and the fixed star, Algol in mid-July. There were some major repercussions in the world at that time with volcanos erupting, geysers exploding, political violence and sudden turns of events. Uranus moves from 26° Taurus 52’ to , 27° Taurus 15’ this month as it is slowing down to go retrograde on September 2nd.
Uranus is considered to be stationary now and therefore very powerful for the entire month. We will still have some strange happenings for the next three months so buckle up, pilgrims, and don’t freak out.
Neptune is retrograde and goes from 29° Pisces 41’ to 29° Pisces, 3’ through the month. During the last week of the month, Venus will oppose Neptune which can be a very creative aspect if you embrace seeing things differently but it can also be wishy washy or just plain lazy in relationships as people don’t want to commit because they are not clear in their feelings or desires. Venus moves on pretty quickly so don’t make a huge deal out of things that don’t go as you planned.
Pluto is still retrograde and moves from 0° Aquarius 38’ to 0° Aquarius 01’ during the month of August. Pluto then goes back into Capricorn in September before he finally goes direct on October 12th. The lord of the underworld and ultimate transformation will finish with his sojourn back into Capricorn on November 21st. I welcome that shift wholeheartedly. Though both Capricorn and Aquarius are ruled by Saturn and share Saturn’s responsible but restrictive energy, Aquarius has more of a “for the people” vibe as opposed to Capricorn’s “for the profit” signature.

Aries — March 21-April 19: This is a very energized month for you as Mars approaches a conjunction with Jupiter in Gemini on the 14th. If you are doing something creative, that’s even better as there is harmony with Venus and Mercury in your solar 5th house with this conjunction in your solar 3rd house. Taurus — April 20-May 20: Your ruling planet, Venus, will be in Virgo between August 5th and August 30th and so you will be a little bit persnickety, fussy or discontent to say the least. Use the energy to clean up your personal act with dietary changes for the better or for organizing your own personal home environment . It is a great time for decluttering and doing the Marie Kondo thing with your wardrobe. It is not the time to make major purchases for wardrobe or décor items as you won’t make the best choices but it is a good time to analyze what you need. Things go better in September as Venus will be in Libra, a sign she rules and which is all about beauty, relationships and harmony. Your best days are the 24th and 25th.
Gemini — May 21-June 21: GEMINI: Mars and Jupiter in your sign now and will give you plenty of energy and opportunities to expand your horizons. You will be perceived as a knowledgeable, positive and competent person when you put yourself out there. Communications should go well with the Sun and Venus in your solar third house so promote yourself in any way that suits you and gets you where you want to go. Maybe it’s time for a social media push! Great days to do that are the 26th and 27th.
Cancer — June 22-July 23: With Mars and Jupiter in your solar 12th house of endings, karma, the subconscious mind and self-undoing, you need to be a little careful about your actions. It would be a great time during the new Moon on the 4th to spend some time alone for self-reflection about what you want to manifest for your future. This new Moon happens in your solar 2nd house of assets, money and wealth, so focus on improving that area of your life at this time. Positive days to do this are on the 1st, the 2nd, the 28th and 29th.
Leo — July 24-August 23: With the Sun and Venus in your sign and the solar 1st house, you benefit from that sparkling energy as it gives you an air of charisma, charm and popularity. This time is very favorable for self-improvement and advancing your own agenda or business interests. Mercury will be going retrograde back into that house so be patient with changes or hesitation on the part of others to join up with you. There’s plenty of time in September to seal any deals and get people on board. Be generous with others and don’t try to force things this month. The 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 30th and 31st are your stellar days.
Virgo — August 24-September 22: Your ruling planet, Mercury, will go retrograde on August 5th at 4° Virgo and moves back to 21° Leo in your solar 12th house throughout the month. It’s a good time to take life a little slower or spend some time away from work, preferably by a body of water for some solitude and reflection. Mars and Jupiter are in your solar 10th house of career and profession and will make your career a bit busy but make an effort to get your personal boundaries in order as to balance your personal and professional life. The 6th and 7th are days that favor your agenda.
Libra — September 23-October 22: With Venus entering your 12th house of endings, karma, self-undoing and the subconscious mind, there are things you need to ponder between August 5th and August 30th while Venus passes through the sign of Virgo. It’s a time for soul searching and some contemplative time. Why this is critical will become clear in early September when Venus will be conjunct the south Node in Libra in your 1st house. You have choices to make this fall regarding partnerships and connections. Mars and Jupiter are in your solar 9th house of higher education, foreign travel, publishing and philosophy. Devote some time to writing or promoting your projects for publicity or performance here and abroad. Someone from your past will likely show up to help you. Sagittarius — November 23-December 20: When Jupiter aligns with Mars (like in the song Aquarius but without the mystic crystal revelations) this month, you have lots of energy and options regarding what you want to accomplish or where you want to travel. It also concerns with whom you would like to travel. That conjunction is happening in your solar 7th house of partnership so it is a good time to make a serious connection with someone. The new Moon actually favors you planning some travel in the near future as well. So, pull out that passport and suitcase and get some new travel duds! Capricorn — December 21-January 20: With Saturn retrograde in your solar 3rd house there may be some tweaking you need to do in your communication efforts or in making meaningful connections with siblings. Aquarius — January 21-February 19: With transiting Saturn in your solar 2nd house of income, money, assets and wealth you need to be frugal and pay attention to where your money goes. With Mars and Jupiter in your solar 5th house, it is a good time to take a vacation and recharge your batteries as all this money stuff is making you more than a little bit weary and stressed out. Mercury retrogrades back into your solar 6th house of work, health, habits and service so you may be returning to some place familiar or working with people who are familiar. In any event, make your work environment as pleasant as possible to take advantage of Mercury and Venus together. Days where you can gain favor are the 20th and 21st.
