Six of Wands

Your heart soars as you race to victory on the wings of your own current good sense and ability to see the larger picture.

Is there something you have been aiming for that has possibly seemed out of reach? If so, this is the month to reach out, grab it and make it your own.

There is a sense of a deeper meaning to your quest as the circular images within the sunflowers show you that even as you think you are at the end of something you may actually be on the verge of something else.

You may not know where it will take you but what you do know is that it is for your greater good and that there is a fair degree of growth attached to it. Intellectually you are soaring.

This is a good day to put your head down and study or if you have written work to complete now is the time to do so.  The path you are on is about to take you on a leap possibly beyond your wildest dreams and you should be aiming high as that star is easily within your reach.

Speaking of dreams… you may find that if you sit down and do a bit of day dreaming your goal will come to you sooner especially as your heart is attached to what you desire. This is a great time to do some manifesting when it comes to your love life.

The object of your affection looks to be new to your life and also seems to be linked to a wish you have made. Best sit down with that pen and paper and make a list of what you do want… and while you’re at it keep your thoughts away from what you don’t want.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Jun 16, 2015 — Ace of Swords

Ace of Swords

Ace of Swords

Today’s card, the Ace of Swords — this version from the Druid Craft Tarot — is all about gaining the insight that is necessary to make decisions that are best for you.

Today’s Sun and Moon (New Moon) in Gemini is also conjunct Mars. This takes place within minutes of arc, making it all the more powerful. This Sun / Moon / Mars conjunction is rife with electrical energy, bringing with it the certainty and clarity that are intrinsically tied to the Ace of Swords.

This aspect is also associated with taking back your power. And nothing says that like an arm with a sword in it rising up from the depths of a murky pool.

The Ace of Swords can be victorious or it can be defiant. And there’s no saying which one this one is. But that’s also a part of taking back your power — deciding whether you want to wield your sword for the greater good or use it as a weapon.

This Sword has its own electrical current. Perhaps it’s stopped a bolt of lightning dead in its tracks, or has harnessed its own energy which is just as powerful.

Some things to think about today: First of all, your actions can have far reaching consequences (notice the ripples in the pond). And secondly, no matter how small or alone you feel in the world, you absolutely do have the capacity to make your presence known.

You do want to be mindful of what you put out there today. The Ace of Swords can have a dual meaning just as the blade itself is double edged. You want to be aware of your words as well as your actions and the impact those have one others.

But this New Moon affords us all the opportunity to start something anew. Think about what’s been weighing on your mind that now needs to be decided once and for all. And what discussion needs to be had in order to iron out any differences. The Ace of Swords encourages you to wield your sword not as a weapon but as a conduit for fairness and honesty.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Jun 15, 2015 — The Hermit

The Hermit

The Hermit

Today, as Saturn retrogrades back into Scorpio, you may feel the need to a break from distractions around and focus on seeking your answers from within. While Saturn is retrograde, it’s also now back in mutual reception with Pluto, making your journey into the underworld a little bit easier to bear.

The Hermit card refers to solitude, introspection and internal analysis. It’s about getting a better understanding of yourself and searching for a deeper meaning to life’s most pressing questions.

And while the figure in this card — from Nora Huszka’s gorgeous Gypsy Palace Tarot — may lack human companionship, she’s hardly from alone. Notice the birds and fish that surround her, which may or may not be real. They may just reflect the psychic content of her own thoughts and ideas.

As the Hermit card also refers to turning inward, there is an entire spectrum of information — from the depths of the psyche (represented by the sea creatures) to the heights of conscious awareness (represented by the sky creatures) that can be accessed through this process.

The waves at her feet look almost like flames. She turns her attention to the blue and indigo flames, representing intuition and higher consciousness. As water also represents feelings, these fiery waves can refer to the alchemical process of transmuting your emotions into something that can be worked with dynamically.

The Hermit card can appear at a time when you’re so bombarded with external stimuli that you just want to “get away” from it all. Notice the bird at the top of the card liberating himself from his cage.

Be careful that you don’t spend so much time in your head that you miss out on opportunities that present themselves. They may seem random in the moment but reveal themselves later to be much more important than you’d realized.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Jun 14, 2015 — Knight of Swords

Knight of Swords

Knight of Swords

The Sun and Mars come together in Gemini today, and may see you feeling the need to think and act more quickly.

This aspect is good for clearing the air and for getting on with things rather than dwelling on issues that have been holding you back. It’s good for cutting through confusion and uncertainty and just “doing it” rather than perseveration on whatever’s been standing in your way. And it’s a good time to “wing it,”especially if you’ve been caught up in details rather than looking at the big picture.

If you have something to say, now is the time to say it — as long as you temper your words with kindness and diplomacy. This transit (as well as this card — from Aleister Crowley’s Thoth Tarot) can be impatient, forceful and aggressive.

The Knight of Swords wants to hit the ground running. Or hit the air flying as is depicted in this card. It’s all about being on the go, getting things done, cutting through the BS, and shooting first and asking questions later.

This Knight is a trailblazer. He slices through the air with his dual (Gemini) swords and moves so fast that he doesn’t even need the propellers that are supposed to keep him aloft. He’s faster than a speeding bullet, faster than the gulls flying behind him. Notice that he’s steering his horse down (toward the earth). He’s not just going somewhere, he’s coming from somewhere too.

This is not the day to be lollygagging around. And it’s not the day to be wishy-washy about your goals. It’s a day for action and energy. Motivation. Movement. Direction. Decisiveness. Take a page from this Knight’s book today and get yourself moving, as you have places to go and people to see.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Jun 13, 2015 — King of Pentacles

King of Pentacles

King of Pentacles

Today’s Moon in Taurus may see you making plans for the future. You might be thinking about starting a business, feathering your nest egg, or looking for ways to establish security for you and your loved ones.

The King of Pentacles — this version from the Connolly Tarot — refers to an individual who has reached the pinnacle of success through hard work and determination. He represents power, authority, ambition and worldly acclaim.

This could be you or it could be someone in your life, such as a parent, teacher, mentor or boss. It could also represent a set of attitudes you need to adopt in order to attain your goals.

The King in this card is dressed in the finest royal attire. He is seated on his throne, surrounded by the fruits of his labors as he keeps a watchful eye over his kingdom. The Pentacle in his hand represents prosperity, the flowers represent beauty and grape vines represent sustenance.

Where do you see yourself five years from now? What about ten or twenty? And what steps are you taking today to manifest that vision? Even though the King of Pentacles is a “King,” he didn’t arrive at his station by sitting around doing nothing.

He had to work his way to the top and once there must maintain his position, even if he’s comfortable enough to relax and enjoy all he’s accomplished.

The King of Pentacles has his feet planted firmly on the ground. He’s a businessman, a entrepreneur, a financial advisor — in general a self-made man. And while you do want to be practical about putting together your long term goals, you want to be careful not to get stuck in a rut. Just like the King in this card, it would do you a world of good to stop and smell those flowers from time to time. All work and no play isn’t good for anyone, least of all you.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Jun 12, 2015 — High Priestess

High Priestess

High Priestess

While you have possibly been feeling a bit trapped and held back in recent days, you are still brimming with ideas. It’s just a matter of releasing yourself from any self imposed doubts or situations that may be holding you back.

Neptune goes retrograde today and Venus sextiles the North Node. Together these transits can act to diffuse the barriers between your conscious and subconscious mind and open you up to more creative and inspirational thinking.

The High Priestess in this card seems to be encased in an ice castle which can double as a prison or a cocoon.

Sometimes when we keep ourselves trapped within a situation or way of thinking we do so to protect ourselves or protect other areas of our lives.

The crown floating about your head implies that you are ready to make changes and fairly brimming with new ideas on how to do so.

First things first though… how will you take the first step to change?

Will you thaw the ice that encases you or will you transform your life and emerge as a butterfly from a cocoon?

Either of these options may not be as difficult as you envisage.

There’s a lot of self love around for you as can be seen from the hand placed over your heart and even though others may think of you as a bit of an ice queen you have the power within you to transform all around you… including yourself.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Jun 11, 2015 — Nine of Pentacles

Nine of Pentacles

Nine of Pentacles

As Mercury turns direct in Gemini today you may feel an urge to take flight. Mercury in Gemini can be a bit “flighty” anyway, but there’s a certain sense of buoyancy that ties in perfectly with the butterfly in this card.

This version of the Nine of Pentacles — from the Tarot Lenormand — depicts an opulent courtyard, complete with a reflection pool, statues, fountains and lush landscaping. And of course the vibrant and colorful butterfly front and center.

Butterflies are also symbols of metamorphosis and transformation, which is interesting in that the corresponding Lenormand card — card number 8 / Nine of Diamonds is the coffin or sarcophagus, another symbol of transformation.

The Nine of Pentacles is traditionally related to be satisfied with where you are in life, especially in terms of the lifestyle and environment that you created for yourself. And there is certainly some of that here in the luxurious landscape and surroundings.

But the Tarot Lenormand version shifts the focus more to rising above the petty or earthly concerns and elevating yourself to something that is rare and beautiful in its own right.

The butterfly in this card is known as a Peacock Butterfly, due to its vibrant coloring and spectacular eyespots. As an animal totem, butterflies represent grace, beauty, curiosity, buoyancy and fragility.

It will be some weeks before Mercury crosses its shadow point (on June 27th), bringing you out of the woods as far as retrograde nuisances go. But you can use this time as a sort of springboard for lifting yourself up breaking free from the shackles that have held you down.

In keeping with the traditional interpretations of the Nine of Pentacles, you want to use this time to balance out the give and take in your life while still maintaining your priorities. Remember that whatever you put out there — whether it’s time, energy, money or yourself — as well as whatever you’re open to receiving, will all balance out and be replenished over time.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Jun 10, 2015 — Ten of Cups

Ten of Cups

Ten of Cups

“I’d like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony” — what better song to describe a Sun / Uranus sextile combined with a Mercury / Venus sextile? And what better card to depict this energy than the gorgeous Ten of Cups from the World Spirit Tarot?

The Sun / Uranus aspect is all about expressing your unique individuality and getting along with others. It’s good for celebrating people’s differences and lifting them up rather than tearing them down.

The Mercury / Venus aspect is about communicating and harmonizing and expressing your point of a view in a loving and conciliatory manner. And yes, it’s about singing and dancing and playing — especially with these planets in whimsical Gemini and Aries.

In this version, the Ten of Cups is portrayed by one big happy family engaged in a joyful celebration. The figures in the card come from all walks of life — there are different genders, age groups, cultures, lifestyles and orientations.

They dance along a garden path, kicking up their heels (and the autumn leaves all around them) in the process. A small child plays in the background and the family dog joins in.

This card tells you that — at least for today — everything is exactly as it should be. It’s a time of honoring differences and finding ways to see one another as “family” as well as friends. Take some time today to make someone feel accepted and included, and be willing to join in and let your own hair down as well.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Jun 9, 2015 — The Magician

Magician

The Magician

With Mars and Uranus sextiling today in Gemini and Aries, you may feel like you can accomplish anything! This aspect is innovative and dynamic;it brings together the two planets best suited for creating “magic” in the signs best known for energy, action and initiative.

The Magician in this card — from Vanessa Decort’s gorgeous Sun and Moon Tarot — is seen delineating an astrology chart in heavens. An Ouroboros (world snake, known for devouring its own tail and swallowing itself, only to be born again and again) is placed around the chart wheel’s circumference.

In the center of the wheel are the Magician’s tools — a wand, cup, sword and pentacle. Esoteric symbols (yin-yang, a lemniscate, eye or horus and horse-head talisman) are also seen inside the wheel.

The Magician stands on a beach with waves lapping at the shoreline. Stars twinkle in the night sky while a fire blazes to his left and a monkey gazes out from a pile of rocks on his right.

But the figure in this deck is not your typical Magician. He marches to the beat of his own drum, which is so fitting for the Mars / Uranus sextile. The Monkey in the foreground is also fitting as monkeys are known to be clever and playful creatures who embody the spirit of the Magi.

Take some time to today to think about what makes you unique and what skills you and you alone possess. Every one of us has something that we’re so passionate about — and properly channeled, this can become your calling.

It’s all about making the best and most powerful use of that thing that makes you YOU. Like the Magician in this card, you’ll want to remember that all of your resources are right there at your disposal, and will only need to be accessed in order for you to create something “magic.”

Free Daily Tarotscope — Jun 8, 2015 — Nine of Cups

Nine of Cups

Nine of Cups

This should be a calm, peaceful easy day for you with the Sun sextiling Jupiter and the Moon moving into gentle, compassionate Pisces.

The Nine of Cups — this version from Nigel Jackson’s  Medieval Enchantment Tarot — is a card of contentment and complacency. Happiness, fulfillment, Love.

Everything about this card is pleasant and peaceful. There’s a rainbow spanning the sky and stars poking through the billowing clouds. An ornate and graceful heron flies over a kingdom below, while a tiny sailboat sets off for parts unknown.

Think about what makes you happy and chances are good it’s the simple things in life. Home, family, friends, health, material comforts and peace of mind. This is what the Nine of Cups is all about and if you’re not where you want to be just yet, think of ways to change that.

The Nine Cups in this card are always full. They’re filled with love, gratitude and abundance, which are endlessly intertwined. They’re filled with hopes and dreams and miracles which are yours for the taking.

The Nine of Cups is called “Happiness” in some decks and the “Wish card” in others. But those aren’t always the same thing. So be careful what you wish for as it may or may not bring you happiness.

The Nine of Cups is a card of satisfaction, fulfillment and contentment. It speaks of being more than just satisfied with your lot in life, but also feeling truly blessed and grateful with where you are.

Take some time to think about what you really want today — and don’t forget to be grateful for what you already have. There’s an intricate balance between gratitude and personal fulfillment, so make sure you’re putting enough energy and effort into both.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Jun 7, 2015 — Three of Cups

Three of Cups

Three of Cups

It’s time to eat, drink, dance and be merry. As Venus trines Uranus today, you may be celebrating something which not only involves you but also others.

There is much merriment to be found and growth from interacting with others. It may be the start of a new project or the beginnings of a new idea that has taken hold in your mind.

Either way it is a good idea to share it around with trusted friends and get their ideas on it.

The Three of Cups — this version from Svetlana Ava’s contribution to the beautiful 78 Tarot — represents liveliness and gaiety, communing with others and a light-hearted approach to friendship.

Notice the colorful fruits, berries and flowers scattered at the base of this card.  And the women dancing around in merriment are just as alive and colorful. There are elements of playful reverie and joyful abandon that are shown in these young women taking part in the festivities.

Nothing about today looks “heavy” for you so if you have been through a hard time lately now is the time to leave it behind and look towards the future.Know that you have like-minded people around you to life you up and support you.

Your life is ready to take a new turn and within this you are filled with such happiness that nothing and no one will stand in your way. In fact if they did you would probably just laugh in their face.

It’s time to dabble in new experiences and taste new life experiences. It’s time to let go of the past and begin a brand new day. It’s time to be grateful and spread that gratitude around because as you do it will come back to you again and again.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Jun 6, 2015 — Nine of Arrows

Nine of Arrows

Venus trines Saturn today and brings with it the discipline and dedication to see your way through difficult times without losing focus.

The Nine of Arrows is the Wildwood Tarot’s version of the Nine of Swords, a card traditionally associated with fear and paranoia. But look at the woman in this card.

She moves so deftly through a firestorm of flying arrows that she doesn’t even notice them whizzing by her head. In fact her eyes aren’t even open.

This card is called “Dedication” and speaks of the need to stay on your path and not allow yourself be discouraged by potential pitfalls or distractions.

The woman may seem like she’s not paying attention, or is just going through the motions. Or she may be so dedicated to her craft (notice she holds the bow and arrow in her hands like it’s a musical instrument) that she’s undeterred by the threat of danger on her path.

The Nine of Arrows in this deck speaks of heeding your calling and dedicating yourself to your life’s work. Whether that refers to a specific gift or talent, or whether it refers to a spiritual undertaking, you’re encouraged to devote yourself to it fully and not allow yourself to be deterred by whatever challenges threaten to stand in your way.

The Venus / Saturn trine makes that vision clearer to you — so clear in fact that you don’t have to “see” it to believe in it. But you still have to do the work. And that means mustering up the courage and dedication to get started on your path.
