This week, we’ve got a planet changing direction (Saturn), a New Moon in Taurus, and two planets (Mars and Pluto) that are officially out of bounds. 

Starting on Monday, we have a Balsamic Moon in Pisces, which sextiles Uranus and the Sun — and semi-sextiles Chiron and Venus — before the day is through. As lunar aspects are fleeting, these transits will probably only produce short-lived effects. But in general, these are all favorable contacts that should see you feeling more creative, compassionate and optimistic.

We start this week with the Sun completing its conjunction to Uranus in Taurus on Monday. This aspect is good for expressing yourself in ways that may not be conventional but can inspire tolerance and acceptance in others. As the Sun is tied to your life force, will and self-expression, while Uranus is tied to thinking outside the box, these planets joining together can be incredibly progressive and innovative.

These two planets rule opposing signs (Leo and Aquarius respectively), so bringing them together at the same degree of the same sign creates an opening for ironing out personal differences. Even so, they’re fixed sign planets coming together in a fixed sign (Taurus), emphasizing the tendency toward self-expression and individuation. This aspect encourages you to march to the beat of your own drum and express your own unique individuality in ways that inspire rather than shock.

Starting on Monday, there’s a perfect Yod formation involving the Moon, Venus and Pluto, with the Moon as the focal point. The Yod aspect is also known as the “finger of God”), and with these planets involved, it can bring with it a desire to connect more intimately with loved ones and relationship partners.

There’s a lot happening this week, with both the asteroid Ceres and the planet Jupiter turning retrograde, and a whole slew of hard (squares and oppositions) aspects involving the inner (personal) and outer (transpersonal) planets.

Starting on Monday, we have a Moon in calm, sensuous Taurus, sextiling Venus and Neptune and trining Saturn and Pluto. The Moon is exalted in Taurus and these harmonious aspects to planets occupying water and earth signs should make for a relatively mellow day.

This week starts with a loose t-square involving Venus, the Moon and Mars on Monday. This is a fixed t-square with Venus at the focal point of a Moon / Mars opposition, and as both of them are debilitated by sign, it can manifest as conflict and contention in relationship. 

Venus is void of course, with the Moon following right behind, but she’ll only be void for a few hours, before moving into Sagittarius. This should be a welcome change, and could see you wanting to spend time with those who make you feel good about yourself, rather than those who drag you down. The Moon in Sagittarius is expansive and spirited, with a strong focus on personal and spiritual evolution.

This week starts on Monday with Mercury in sextile to Mars. Both of these planets are in detriment (each in the sign that is opposite of the one it rules), but the sextile is a harmonious aspect that should make up for it. In general, this aspect is great for making plans and then following through with them.

It’s about being on the same page with those you are working with and getting things done with little conflict or aggravation. Keep in mind that Mercury is retrograde, so you want to hold off on signing contracts or making important purchases. But if you’re thinking about negotiating a business deal or want to get your ideas before someone who can help you turn them into reality, this is the time to do it.

This week starts on Monday with the Moon — still New — in Taurus, at the midpoint between Uranus and Mars. The Moon is exalted in Taurus, meaning that it’s a revered placement. An exalted planet or luminary is said to express its clearest and purest essence in that sign, in this case it’s the calm, gentle, fertile sign of Taurus.

This placement presents opportunities for relaxing, meditating and getting grounded. These are all Taurus Moon activities, with the idea of comfort, luxury, and getting in touch with nature and the earth being the corresponding theme. You might not want to become too complacent though: with the Moon at the midpoint of Uranus and Mars, there’s bound to be some action. In general the Taurus archetype is about building, cultivating and developing, so keep in mind there is work to be done.
