Venus in Aries — April 5, 2016 – April 30, 2016

Venus enters Aries April 5, 2016 at 4:50pm UT. Venus is said to be in detriment in Aries, as it is the sign that opposes Venus’ natural ruler, Libra. Traditional or Classical astrology places a lot more emphasis on planetary detriments as they are seen as significant in Classical practices. There are some disadvantages to having a planet in detriment, usually due to societal norms and expectations rather than any deficit in the archetype itself.

There are a lot of wonderfully unique attributes associated with this placement and if you happened to have been born with Venus in Aries, you’re probably known as someone who is exceptionally passionate and ardent when it comes to matters of the heart.

You probably fall in (and out) of love quickly. You consider yourself a bit of a maverick where love and relationships are concerned. You wear your heart on your sleeve, express your feelings openly, and are not afraid of a little competition.

Venus enters Pisces on March 12, 2016. Venus is exalted in Pisces, meaning that it is an honored or revered placement. As Neptune, the modern ruler of Pisces, is the higher octave of Venus, this placement is said to be in essential dignity.

If you happened to have been born with this Venus, you’re probably very sensitive, loving, compassionate and empathetic. You’re conscious of (and affected by) the suffering of others.

You like to see yourself as part of a greater gestalt and not any better than (or any worse than) anyone else. You want to believe that people are inherently good, and for this reason you can be seen as gullible or naive.

Venus in Pisces people tend to be romantic and idealistic. They’re dreamers and visionaries who see the word through rose colored glasses. They’re poets and prophets and philosophers.

Venus enters Aquarius on Feb 17, 2016 at 4:16 UT (Feb 16, 2016 at 11:16pm EST). Aquarius is the natural ruler of astrology’s 11 house — the area associated with friendships, group involvements and humanity in general.

If you were born with Venus in Aquarius, you probably consider yourself a bit of a rebel when it comes to love. You enjoy your independence and like to maintain a large circle of friends from all walks of life. You’re drawn to intelligent, independent and open-minded partners who test the boundaries of conventional mores.

You may be a bit eccentric, especially regarding matters of the heart. You see yourself as impervious to social expectations and may even like to shock others with your relationship choices.

Aquarius is co-ruled by Saturn (traditional ruler) and Uranus (modern ruler). As such, there are some Venus in Aquarius individuals who are more “Saturnine” — conservative and traditional. A lot depends on the aspects Venus makes and the relative strengths of both Saturn and Uranus in the natal chart.

For the most part though, Venus in Aquarius people are more Uranian in nature. They tend to live in their heads rather than in their bodies (or their hearts) and can seem emotionally disconnected.

Mercury Retrograde January 2015

Just after the sun goes into Aquarius right on a New Moon on January 20, 2015 we are visited again (on the 21st) by that pesky little thing known as Mercury turning retrograde.

This time it is in Aquarius which is the sign of geniuses as that lightening quick energy of Uranus (Aquarius’ ruling planet) mingles with Mercury (planet of communication).

You can imagine many things can go wrong with the combination of Mercury retrograde in Aquarius and you are not far off the mark there.

Be prepared for thoughts just hitting you out of nowhere and then be prepared for feeling frustrated in not being able to follow them up.

You might also want to give some thought to electrical gadgets going haywire and making sure that everything is in tip top shape so no further damage can be done.

Personally, I like the sound of Mercury retrograde in Aquarius.It should bring out some plans that are about your future, allow you to see things from different angles that you may not usually take into consideration and also not keep you as heavily bound down as some of the other signs Mercury could’ve turned retrograde in.

Aquarius is an air sign and Mercury usually does pretty well when travelling through air signs as they rule communication, thinking and ideas.

There are some disadvantages to having a planet in “fall” or “detriment,” due more to societal norms and expectations than anything else. As such, Venus is not particularly comfortable in Scorpio, where the naturally romantic, self-indulgent, partnership-oriented archetype struggles to express itself through the intense, passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpionic filter.

Even so, there are a lot of wonderfully unique attributes associated with this placement, as evidenced by some of the examples listed herein.

Venus is the “love” planet, representing how you give and receive love and affection, as well as what you find aesthetically appealing. What’s attractive to you? And how do you express love and affection?

Venus also rules “money” as in earning potential and income, as in how you handle money, what you spend it on, and whether you’re attracting it to you or seeing it run through your fingers like water.

Venus enters Libra on September 29, 2014 at irgo on September 5, 2014 at 20:52 UT (8:52pm ET). Venus is Libra’s natural ruler, and is thus happiest and most comfortable there (along with Taurus, the sign it co-rules, and Pisces, the sign of its exaltation).

Venus in Libra is all about peace, love and understanding. It’s about compromising and accommodating the needs of others in order to preserve harmony and balance in our lives.

This extends to relationships of course, as Venus is the “love” planet and Libra is the relationship and partnership sign.

When Venus enters Libra, relationship issues come to the forefront, no matter what sign it’s in in our own natal charts.

We find ourselves dealing with relationship issues, which come to the forefront at this time and provide us with the opportunity to work out the kinks in them.

While this most often refers to romantic relationships, it can extend to business partnerships as well.

Venus enters Leo on August 12, 2014 at UT 07:23 UT (3:23 am EDT). Venus is the “love” planet, representing how you give and receive love and affection, as well as what you find aesthetically appealing.

By transit, Venus brings emphasis to these areas of your life — for better or worse, depending on the sign, house placement and relationship the transit forms to planets in your natal chart.

In general Venus transits are favorable. They’re sociable, cooperative and harmonious. They can bring in a new romantic interest or reignite a spark with someone you already have history with.

They can also bring in money. These are usually not major windfalls; they’re more along the lines of unexpected financial gains, gifts from loved ones or money “saved” through fortuitous shopping. Speaking of shopping Venus transits correlate to a desire to spend money too.

This is a very feminine archetype. Even the strongest, most independent and assertive Venus in Cancer people — both male and female — are apt to express themselves in traditionally feminine ways, such as nurturing, caring for and comforting others.

When it comes to relationships, they tend to mother their partners as well. They may be passive or indirect in the early stages, but this is because they have a lot of fears — mostly regarding rejection and abandonment . But once settled into serious, committed, long-term relationships, they shine at doing what they do best: being emotionally supportive and nurturing.
