Ah, the summer is ending once September is here and the days are getting shorter. The planetary action is interesting this month as all the planets from Jupiter on out to Pluto are in retrograde motion, which can give on a feeling that is like waiting for the red light to change. Is anything really moving forward? It is but there is a bit of a lag for progress at present.
Three of these planets — Pluto, Saturn and Jupiter — are all very powerful, as they will each go direct in October, bringing more action and visible changes in everyone’s life at that time.
Mars in Virgo is involved in an opposition with Neptune in Pisces, bringing a fogginess to our reality, as well as the potential for heavy rains and flooding. This aspect is exact on September 2nd.
Mars also makes an inconjunct aspect with Jupiter in Aquarius. I don’t often reference that aspect but it has a health overtone to it and today’s headline about the EU restricting American’s travel there made me think that this connection has something to do with those proposed restrictions. So, there is some downshifting coming regarding travel abroad due to health concerns.
While this shows up as global in my example, we should all take precautions for our health and wellbeing during this month. On a positive note, Venus, beautifully visible in the western sky at dusk, is in her home sign of Libra, along with Mercury. This is a nice easy aspect and can bring in many social opportunities and pleasantries with it. Enjoy it all.
Mercury goes into retrograde motion on the 27th at 25 degrees of Libra so you know the drill about that one; don’t sign and don’t buy big ticket items during a Mercury RX. This particular Mercury Rx makes a square aspect with Pluto in Capricorn activating the 24th degree of the cardinal signs which amps up the power struggles worldwide, much like at the end of 2020. Expect confrontations that can potentially escalate into bigger situations. Always remember that love is greater than fear.

Aries — March 21-April 19: With Mars making an opposition to Neptune, there’s a bit of weakness or ennui to your actions for the first week of the month. This, too, shall pass. Mars then moves into the sign of Libra on 9/16, where he doesn’t usually do confrontations but in sharing that sign with Mercury, he gets irritated and frustrated. So do your best to avoid sticky situations and people who piss you off as Libra is a cardinal sign. Your best days are the 21st and 22nd.
Taurus — April 20-May 20: There is power in the earth signs this month as Pluto, Uranus, Mars and the Sun all are transiting an earth sign. Take all the time you need to accomplish the tasks at hand and enjoy it while you are doing it. If you have a garden, I suggest you have a small party or gathering for friends to participate in your harvest in some way. The end of the month gets a bit testy but until them, enjoy the abundance of life. Your power days are the 23rd, 24th and 25th.
Gemini — May 21-June 21: This is a good time to have some fun with a creative project or with your children as Mercury and Venus transit your solar 5th house. There is also some potential for a move to a new home or a renovation in your current home with Mars in the 4th house, too. With your ruling planet about to go retrograde later in the month there are things you need to re-think regarding how you interact with others. Don’t let little frustrations annoy you, they will always pass. Focus on your strengths and your ability to adapt when necessary. The 26th and 27th are your best days.
Cancer — June 22-July 23: The month begins with the Moon in your sign so that signifies a good start! Take some time off to enjoy your surroundings or take a short trip somewhere that pleases you. Water signs can’t go wrong with a trip to a beach! Things are kind of up in the air regarding work and profession so just roll with it for the month as the conditions are bound to change in October to something more sustainable. Your best days are the 1st, 2nd, 28th 29th and 30th.
Leo — July 24-August 23: Finances take a front seat this month as you attempt to work on some long-range plans. If you don’t get to a workable arrangement before the 26th, delay any commitment until the end of October, after Mercury is direct in Libra. It’s a good time to get together with siblings or neighbors to socialize or solve some problem, as people will be agreeable this month for the most part. The 3rd, 4th and 5th are your days of power to get what you want.
Virgo — August 24-September 22: This is a busy month for you with Mars and the Sun, two hot planets moving through your sign in your solar 1st house. This will have the effect of giving you a lot of energy to accomplish what you need to. Money and financial planning also figure into your tasks this month. When Mercury goes retrograde on the 27th, you have to reconfigure something or it will not work out as planned. Your power days are the new Moon on the 6th and the 7th.
Libra — September 23-October 22: With Venus now in your sign you should be enjoying life and managing to create beauty at the same time. This is a good time for socializing, getting some well-deserved attention and having some fun. This might take a toll on your energy so make sure you give yourself some alone time and some rest. If you haven’t undertaken a creative project in a while, this is a good month to do so. You are energized and positive on the 9th and 10th.
Scorpio — October 23-November 22: With Mars in Virgo you are probably paying close attention to your health right now. Good idea to do so, as there are some issues that need your attention. With the opposition to Neptune, the symptoms could be very confusing, so just chalk it up to this weird aspect. However, do make some corrections in your diet as you may have developed an allergy to what you’ve been eating. Friends and lovers could also be confusing so cut everyone some slack right now and don’t attempt to define or nail anything down. There’s a better time for that later. Your power days are the 10th and 11th.
Sagittarius — November 23-December 20: This is an interesting time of big changes for you as the south node is transiting your sign. Often this means you are entering a new relationship or contemplating making a major life change. Often people from your past contact you to make amends or just discuss a difficult time from the past. It’s a great opportunity to forgive and let go. This action alone releases you from certain karmas with that former relationship. Sounds good to me. Great days to do this are the 12th and 13th.
Capricorn — December 21-January 20: With Venus and Mercury in your solar 10th house this is an excellent time to do a little promotion for your business. Your ruler, Saturn, is very powerful right now and also in an air sign so there’s an alignment with those two right now. You can reach a new audience it you take more of a lighter touch with your words and actions. The 14th and 15th may give you an excellent and far-reaching opportunity to do just that. Earth signs are powerful this month.
Aquarius — January 21-February 19: Saturn and Jupiter are in your sign right now, giving you some authority as well as wisdom this month. You are being summoned to correct without judgment and offer your sage advice to others. This combo gives you weight and levity at the same time and with Venus and Mercury in fellow air sign of Libra you can convey what you know in a believable way that is not offensive to others. Challenging, yes, but doable for you at this time. Great days to put yourself out there are the 16th, 17th and AM hours of the 18th.
Pisces — February 20-March 20: This is a quiet time for you, Pisces, and you are possibly feeling reclusive and tired. Saturn and Jupiter Rx in your solar 12th house tends to do that so just go with the flow. You are more vulnerable than usual this month. If you are in relationship, your spouse may also be testy and a bit difficult so don’t internalize it as having anything to do with you, it is just something they are going through. All will eventually be well. Your power days are the PM hours of the 18th, the 19th and 20th.
