Free Daily Tarotscope — Oct 21, 2015 — Six of Pentacles

Six of Pentacles

Six of Pentacles

Today you may be called upon to open your heart and loosen your purse strings, as a measure of generosity and goodwill.

The Six of Pentacles is a card of abundance and good-will. It’s about aligning yourself with the concept of money as energy that both flows to you and from you with ease. You neither hold onto it too tightly (as with the fours) or worry that you don’t deserve it (as with the fives).

The Six of Pentacles is all about benevolence — giving what you can afford to give: whether it’s of your time, your money or your energy — to someone who needs it more than you do.

This card speaks of understanding the pathways between giving and receiving, to the extent that there are no expectations for being repaid. You give because you can and because the gratitude you receive in exchange is more than enough reward.

The woman in this card — from the Crystal Visions Tarotcollects ripe fruits and berries from the trees in a forest clearing. She shares them with the birds that flock around her, or are they sharing them with her?  This is a reference to the give and take that is a theme in the Six of Pentacles, and a reminder that what you put out there comes back to you in one way or another. In this respect the Six of Pentacles invites you to pay attention and be grateful for the blessings you receive.

It represents prosperity, generosity and benevolence. So while you may be called upon to lend a helping hand, you may also be the benefactor of someone else’s generosity.  Either way this card speaks of both “spreading the wealth” and “paying it forward,” each of which requires a measure of gratitude.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Oct 19, 2015 — Six of Vessels

Six of Vessels

 Six of Vessels

Today’s card — the Six of Vessels from the Wildwood Tarot — is this deck’s version of the Six of Cups.

It’s a card of innocence and purity, pristine beauty and a joyful, lighthearted playfulness that is seen in the pair of otters who are just getting ready to test the waters.

This is clearly a sacred space which picture postcard beauty made up of lush foliage, a trickling waterfall, and six glowing bowls that float on the surface of a tranquil pool like a scattering of lotus blossoms.

A grove of trees springs up from a hill in the background, shielding this scene from the rest of the world. And this in many ways is the essence of the Six of Vessels.

This card is called “Reunion” in this deck, a reference perhaps to reuniting with your true purpose. Getting in touch with your childhood, your roots and yourself.

The Moon is in Capricorn today, conjuncting Pluto at some point and trining Venus, Mars and Jupiter. All of this Earth energy (the North Node is in Virgo now too — another earth sign) can awaken in you a desire to get back in touch with nature.

Take some time today to find your own sacred space; and reflect on the things that have brought you to where you are today. If you can’t get away you can still recapture some of the magic of those simpler times, and use it to restore your sense of peace.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Oct 15, 2015 — The High Priestess

High Priestess

High Priestess

Today it’s going to be all about getting in touch with your intuition, listening to your inner voice and exploring the intricate workings of your psyche.

The High Priestess — this version from Daba Driscoll’s beautiful Tarot of Trees — represents a need to turn inward and look for the deeper meanings in your life; it challenges you to look beneath the surface and find hidden nuggets of information that can help you round out the vast reservoirs of knowledge you already possess.

It speaks of insight and awareness, psychic perceptions and intuition, and a sense of “knowing” even when there is not a factual basis for it.

In this version of the card, the High Priestess is represented by an ornate and mysterious tree, seated in a crescent Moon and framed by twin pillars which curve around it like an all-seeing eye.

The tree’s branches curve intricately up toward the heavens while the roots hold pomegranates, which are seen as fertility symbols in some cultures and forbidden fruits in others.

The High Priestess is at home in the world of arcane knowledge and esoterica. She’s both young and old, masculine and feminine, innocent and wise. She is the keeper of secrets, knowledge and mystery.

You may be getting more in touch with your own intuition or experiencing profound instances or deja vu or synchronicity. It’s important to embrace these visions and try to understand them, rather than shying away from them. They can bring insights into not only your own personal choices, but the direction you need to be heading in the coming days.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Dec 9, 2015 — Queen of Wands

Queen of Wands

Queen of Wands

This is a good day for standing out in a crowd and showcasing your many talents.

Whether you’re trying to make an impression at work or are hoping to leave your mark on the world in other ways, you should have no problem making your presence known.

The Queen of Wands — this version from Dana Driscoll’s Tarot of Trees — is warm, vibrant, confident and creative. She knows how to lead with her heart and to garner the respect of others.

She embodies the feminine or yin aspects of Fire (wands) energy: warmth, enthusiasm, energy and drive. She’s regal and majestic; dynamic and refined; confident and authoritative.   She’s creative, expressive and passionate. She’s also very worldly and knowledgeable.

She may be someone in your life, an event or a part of yourself. She may be a supervisor, a parent, a friend or even some facet of yourself that has long been dormant.

If you’ve been hiding in the shadows or downplaying some of the more expressive aspects of your personality, now is the time to step up and be seen. The Queen of Wands encourages you to get out there and put your best foot forward, in whatever capacity you can.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Oct 6, 2015 — Knight of Vessels

Knight of Vessels

Knight of Vessels

Today is a day for going after your heart’s desires with the kind of purpose and agility that can take you as far as you’re willing to go.

This is the Wildwood Tarot’s version of the Knight of Cups, the card that is generally associated with a man who’s ready to fall in love and who’s not afraid to wears his heart on his sleeve.

In this version it’s the Knight of Vessels, portrayed by an eel, weaving in and out of danger as he glides toward his objective.

As a water spirit animal totem, the Eel is representative of the Kundalini life force energy.  It’s associated with focused energy, creativity, sexuality, passion and transformation.

The Eel is a mutable and “electrifying” shapeshifter. He’s purposeful and swift, yet he glides through the water (emotions) with such ease and agility that he’s able to adapt his physical form to accommodate the ever-changing tides.

The Knight of Vessels invites you to adopt this same sort of adaptability as you go off chasing your own goals. It invites you to weave in and out of the opportunities to present themselves, steering clear of “danger” while moving effortlessly toward your own objectives.

You may be thinking about going off on an adventure; if so don’t be surprised if it includes romance. Alternately you may be planning a trip on your own, getting away from it all, or heading off into the unchartered territories. Whatever you decide, this card calls for you to unleash your power and go after your goals with the same kind of purpose and passion that is demonstrated here.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Oct 4, 2015 — King of Pentacles

King of Pentacles

King of Pentacles

It’s good to be “King!” Especially the King of Pentacles which is all about abundance, affluence, benevolence and an appreciation for the finer things in life.

This card refers to a prominent, enterprising, success-oriented individual. He (or she) has a bit of the Midas touch, knows how to attract wealth and knows how to make good use of it — neither squandering it nor spending it frivolously.

The King of Pentacles is clothed in the finest royal attire. Yet he’s also very open and generous. There’s not an ounce of stinginess or pettiness about this King. If this is someone coming into your life, know that he or she is there to teach you those qualities. Qualities like shrewdness, discipline and business acumen.

If this card represents you in your current capacity, don’t forget the little people — those who’ve helped you get to where you are today and have celebrated your success. Perhaps you’ve invested your energy into a business that’s paying off, or maybe you’re seeing results in other areas, such as a relationship that’s showing signs of renewal, or a child that has blossomed under your careful guidance. Whatever it is, you can be sure that it’s your skill and acumen that’s steering the course of success.

But if, on the other hand, you’ve been focusing too much on what you lack or what’s been missing in your life, it’s time to rethink the messages that you’re sending out to the Universe. You may be reluctant to delegate responsibility to others. The phrase “if you want something done you may as well do it yourself” speaks directly to you, but may not always be in your best interests.

If you struggle with trusting that things will get done without your input, keep in mind that giving up control and allowing others to show you what they’re made of can benefit you more in the end. Remember the universal laws of attraction: they’re as present as ever in this card. You ‘ll need to shift your energies to those of gratitude and prosperity-consciousness in order to fully appreciate the blessings of this King.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Sept 20, 2015 — Page of Cups

Page of Cups

Page of Cups:

Today is a day for spreading the love and tending to those who are nearest and dearest to you with tender loving care.

The Page of Cups is sensitive, loving, gentle and kind. He’s nurturing and very compassionate — and more than willing to express his feelings of love and affection for others.

In this version of the card — from the Housewives Tarot — the Page of Cups is seen as a young boy watering a group of sunflowers with three faces in their centers. I can’t tell if these are family members or movie stars (is it Burgess Meredith, Red Skelton and Fred Astaire? I doubt it, but this is who they look like to me).

The flowers are planted in heart-shaped vases and the boy looks positively gleeful as he waters them. The flowers are thriving and lifting their sunny faces up toward him to soak it all in.

The Page of Cups may be someone in your life — a young child or someone with childlike qualities, gentleness, sweetness and idealism. Or it may be a set of qualities that you’re being called on to embrace. I love how this card focuses less on romantic love and more on tending to others. Seeing how love spreads and is responded to by others.

Is there someone in your life that needs a little nurturing today in order to lift their spirits or reach their full potential? Perhaps you’re in need of a bit of tender loving care yourself. The Page of Cups is here to remind you that when you give even a little you get a whole lot back in return, so take a few minutes today to see what you can do to gladden the hearts of others.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Sept 16, 2015 — Wheel of Fortune

Wheel of Fortune

 Wheel of Fortune

Today you may be looking at the ups and downs in your life and thinking about how they’ve led you to where you are today. The Wheel of Fortune card is associated with fate, destiny, “karma,” life cycles and both good and bad luck.

Sometimes we blame ourselves for the down times (assuming we’ve “brought it all on ourselves”) while viewing the up times as outside of our control.

We all experience these up and down cycles — and we all try to maximize the former while minimizing the latter. But the Wheel of Fortune — this version from the beautiful Paulina Tarot — tells us that both are necessary and that the good times wouldn’t be good without the frame of reference of the not-so-good times.

The Wheel in this version glows with esoteric (astrological) symbolism. The creatures attached to the outer perimeters — and the beautiful Mermaid as well — move up as the wheel reaches the top and move back down as it descends toward the ground.

The Wheel of Fortune is tied to “luck” and you may see yours turning today as Saturn moves through the last minutes of Scorpio and Mercury prepares to turn retrograde.

There are also elements of karma and fate associated with this card; yet the Wheel of Fortune refers as much to creating your own destiny — and mastering your own fate — as it does to dealing with karmic repercussions. It’s a reminder that all we send out comes back to us in some form or another. It may not be today; it may be months, years or even lifetimes away.

Remember that as one one door closes, another one opens — just as the wheel turns and the seasons change. Today’s transits speak of finding ways to voice your intentions while at the same time putting disappointments and heartaches behind you.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Sept 15, 2015 — Nine of Wands

Nine of Wands

Nine of Wands

What would you be doing today if you knew that all of your efforts were going to pay off in the end? Would you keep on going despite what may feel like insurmountable obstacles, or would you throw your hands in the air and admit defeat?

This is the question you want to be asking yourself when you find yourself nearing the end of your rope and wondering if you have the strength to go on.

The Nine of Wands can have you asking yourself “what else could go wrong?” and “how much more of this can I take?” when life seems to throw you one curveball after another. It calls for perseverance and determination, especially if you find yourself starting to wonder whether the Universe is conspiring against you.

You may be recalling past disappointments, expecting the worst, or adopting a “what’s the use?” attitude. Like the tree in this card — from Dana Driscoll’s Tarot of Trees — you may not think you have the strength to go on. But this is exactly the opposite of what you should be doing right now, as you’re closer to the finish line than you think.

The Nine of Wands asserts that while things may not be easy — and while there are bound to be more challenges ahead — it’s hardly the time to throw in the towel. You need only think about how far you’ve come (and how much you’ve already accomplished) to find the motivation to push ahead.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Sept 11, 2015 — The Magician

Magician

The Magician

Today is a good day to show the rest of the world just what it is you’re made of.

The Magician card — in the Prairie Tarot deck portrayed by an old-style vaudeville magician — is so skilled at whatever he puts his mind to, that he can do it with his eyes closed (or in this case a pair of darkened glasses). It’s all about concentration and mastery.

In this version of the card, we see the Magician demonstrating all of the qualities he possesses — skill (pentacles), ingenuity (swords), creativity (wands) and intuition (cups). He stands before a table with all of his tools, ready to perform “magic.”

Similarly, you’ll want to become more aware of the tools that you possess naturally that can be honed and fine tuned into something magnificent. You may also start noticing magic happening to you — in the form of unexpected events or synchronicities. Don’t chalk it all up to dumb luck though: see it instead as confirmation from the Universe that you’re on the right path.

While there are also elements of trickery and sleight of hand, the proper manifestation of this energy is to funnel it into something that can be mastered.

Every one of us has something that we’re so passionate about — and properly channeled, This can be your calling. It’s all about making the best and most powerful use of that thing that makes you YOU. Like the Magician, you’ll need to realize that the ultimate power and control over your life are in your own hands.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Sept 9, 2015 — Seven of Swords

Seven of Swords

Seven of Swords

As Mercury squares Pluto today, you may need to think about the power of your own thoughts and words. Both the ability they have to do harm and the ability they have to do good.

Swords stand for our intellect and mental processes. If you have some form of work to do that you need to really put your thinking cap on to get done then this is the month to do it.

Do not waste your time pondering over what might have been you have a task to complete and you need to get on with it. A clear mind and a clear conscious is needed.

The central figure in this card — from Stephanie Pui-Min Law’s gorgeous Shadowscapes Tarot — is a masked man dressed as a blackbird, surrounded by his blackbird friends. He’s hidden himself at the base of a boulder, having stolen a sword from the Guardian Swan.

The question today is, are you the Swan or are you the masked man?  Do you need to be on guard against trickery and deception, or are you the one who’s tempted to use your ingenuity for questionable gains? Mercury square Pluto can bring trust issues to the forefront and can also fuel your own treacherous impulses, which can see you trying to outsmart even the most honorable foe.

The ravens are there delivering messages and perhaps warning you to be on your toes. But the message here is one of being wise about what you think and wise about what you say, because you never know when a misplaced word or misconstrued sentence can come back to haunt you later.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Sept 7, 2015 — Six of Scrolls

Six of Scrolls

This is a time when wisdom meets hopes and dreams. The elephant in this card portrays that which is ancient and wise and the knowledge which a person like this can bestow on you.

Keep your ears open today for one such as this because it seems as if they have something very wise and nurturing to give you in the form of words and knowledge.

There is almost a spiritual connotation to this card — the Six of Scrolls from the beautiful Chrysalis Tarot — as the colour purple surrounds the elephant (giver of wisdom and knowledge).

You may find that you go within yourself to draw out that which is wise and strong… that which you always knew. With this knowledge a transformation takes place within you.

The point where the woman in this card touches the elephant’s forehead with her own is where the 6th chakra lays. This is where psychic information flows in and out and relays that the knowledge and wisdom you attain does not need to be from books but is simply “known” by you. The crescent moon and stars in the sky speak of mystery and mysticism as well as the turning of the ages.

You may be thinking of taking a meditation class or psychic course. If these are not for you art, writing or anything creative can also give you the knowledge and wisdom you are looking for as it is already within you.
