Free Daily Tarotscope — Mar 11, 2015 — The Tower

Tower

The Tower

Today’s Mars / Uranus conjunction also squares Pluto. This is an intense and potentially cataclysmic transit that ties in perfectly with the Tower card.

The Tower — much like this aspect — refers to abrupt and unsettling changes that can take you outside of your comfort zone, through the sense that everything happening around you is completely outside of your control.

In most versions of the card the “tower” is a literal fortress that’s been struck by lightning and is crashing to the cliffs below. People are falling out of the structure while flames and smoke shoot from the shattered windows.

In this version it’s storming and the tower is in danger or falling into the sea. It’s also already partially destroyed, never to be fully restored. A tree has uprooted itself and is hanging on for dear life while the world crashes down all around it.

Yet if you consider the source of the destruction — the one earth shattering lightning bolt — you can see how it lights the whole sky, making everything momentarily clear.

It is this flash of insight that all of us need to be paying attention to, especially as these planets tighten their astrological grip (and form an exact square) today. Rather than running and hiding — or hanging on for dear life — cooperating with the process may go a long ways towards mitigating the destruction;

You may feel like your carefully-constructed world is falling apart or that all you’ve held near and dear (and previously thought was indestructible) is no longer capable of sustaining you. And you’d be right. But look closely at the card and you can the makings of another tower deep within its recesses. It tells you that all is not lost here afterall, and that there is still hope for renewal.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Mar 10, 2015 — Princess of Wands

Princess of Wands

Princess of Wands

Today is a good day to be alive! It’s a day for trusting your instincts, pursuing your passions and reveling in the spirit of adventure.

The Princess of Wands (the Druid Craft Tarot’s version of the Page of Wands) — is all about seizing the moment and embracing your experiences with every fiber of your being.

The Princess of Wands is passionate, confident and adventurous. She’s not afraid to put herself out there and show the rest of the world what she’s made of. She’s enthusiastic and eager to make things happen. She may not always think things through though; she’s more interested in getting things moving than seeing them through to fruition.

Like all of the Pages in the tarot, there’s the promise of a wide open road ahead of you. A world of possibilities that have yet to be discovered. And unlimited resources for you to tap into.

There’s a fiery, impassioned energy about this Princess of Wands. She stands poised and ready to go, with her vibrant garb, tossled hair and imposing staff all testaments to her dynamic presence. There’s a sense of being on the verge of starting something new and exciting today— even if you don’t know yet exactly what that is.

As Mars and Jupiter come together today (in trine, or 120° aspect), the urge to make things happen is pronounced. This aspect can also open doors and clear away obstacles that might otherwise obstruct you from achieving your desires.

Keep in mind though that there’s a sort of reckless abandon associated with the Princess of Wands, and as such it’s probably not the best time to commit to long-term projects or goals. It’s a great time for brain-storming, inventing and creating — and not so great for launching a project that is not yet fully formed. Use this time to tap into your creative potential and save the business of accomplishing something big for another day.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Feb 28, 2015 — Ten of Swords

Paulina Ten of Swords

Ten of Swords

Today you may find yourself in the uncomfortable position of having to put something to rest that should have been put to rest a long time ago.

The Ten of Swords speaks of inevitable endings. These usually refer to something that’s been held onto well past its expiration date — such as a job you’ve outgrown, a relationship that’s run its course or a friendship that is no longer supportive.

You may have to surrender to the realization that something that means a lot to you must come to an end.

This card is called “Ruin” in some decks, and refers to damage that has been done which cannot be undone, such as a loss of a friendship, the end of a dream or a betrayal of trust.

There’s a bit of a dramatic conclusion in this of the card, as there very well may be in real life. In this version — from the gorgeous Paulina Tarot — we see a swooning woman with 10 swords piercing her flesh. Or are they? If you look closely you’ll notice that there is no blood. And all of the swords are crooked. Perhaps they’re not stuck into her after all.

Whatever it is you’re being forced to let go of, know that it was no longer serving its purpose. There are indications here — just as there are in every version of this card — that the worst is over.

As hard as it is, you know what you’re up against: there’s no more fretting and worrying about the future (as that was left to the Nine of Swords). The Ten of Swords tells you that it’s time to put the past behind you, pick up the pieces and begin the process of moving on.

Free Daily Tarotscope –Feb 22, 2015 — Two of Cups

Two of Cups

Two of Cups

Today’s Venus / Mars conjunction may see you bonding intimately with another.

The Two of Cups speaks of falling in love, finding your other half, and connecting with another on such a powerful level that the two become one.

It’s not always a love connection. It can refer to a close friendship, business partnership, or some other deep bond. It refers to the “sum of the parts being greater than the whole,” which reminds us that two heads (and hearts) are better than one.

In the context of romance though, this is a very loving and romantic card. This version — from Jennifer Galasso’s ethereal Crystal Visions Tarot — is about as romantic as you can get. In it, a pair of star-struck lovers bathe in a shimmering lotus pool under the light of a full moon.

There’s a sacred connection here, a blending of energies with the pouring of an essence from one cup to another and the tiny faerie that rises in the mist and bestows her blessings on the couple below.

This is the essence of the Two of Cups. It’s not just relating to another romantically, but also sharing, merging and uniting in love. The Venus / Mars conjunction in Aries increases your libido, sexual magnetism and physical chemistry.

It can also relate to finding your “soul-mate” or your other half. It brings with it the ability to see yourself through someone else’s eyes (and heart). In this respect it’s about falling in love with yourself — at your very best.

If you’re already involved in an established relationship, this card can relate to reinvigorating the love you felt upon first meeting. And if you’re not involved and just looking, it may very well be the time you find exactly what you’re looking for.

Like these two figures, you may find yourself on the verge of a passionate, all-consuming affair. It can be riveting and it can be intoxicating, and as long as you keep your wits about you, it can also be a life-altering experience.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Feb 19, 2015 — Eight of Pentacles

Eight of Pentacles

Mercury and Saturn are in sextile today. This aspect is favorable for hard work, discipline and organization. It’s perfectly referenced in the Eight of Pentacles — as seen here in the Mythic Tarot’s version.

The Eight of Pentacles is known as the “apprenticeship card.” It refers to developing craftsmanship and expertise; putting your all into a project and being satisfied with the results. You take pride in your work — whether it’s something you’re in the process of learning or something you’ve done a thousand times before.

In this version of the card we meet Daedalus, who is known for having built the Labyrinth for King Minos. Here you see him perfecting his skills as he labors over Eight golden coins.

You can see his focus and dedicating as he works on the intricate details of each coin. He’s patient and diligent. He knows it takes a keen eye and a steady hand to bring hone his craft to perfection.

This is the essence of the Eight of Pentacles — and of the Saturn / Mercury aspect.

it relates to fully investing yourself in a skill or trade. It’s usually a labor of love. It’s not about seeing work as drudgery, but instead being totally engaged in whatever it is you’re devoting your time to.

The Eight of Pentacles also sometimes has to do with shifting gears — as in finding your calling at a point where you might have already considered yourself well on the road to success in some other profession.

Your challenge today is to embrace that aspect and apply it to your work. Whether that means improving upon something you’re already good at, or learning to master new skills. Like Daedalus in this card, it may just be a stepping stone to something bigger and better down the road. But taking pride in your work and honing your skills now will see you one step closer to those goals.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Feb 11, 2015 — Kingfisher

kingfisher

Kingfisher

Mercury goes direct today in the earliest degrees of Aquarius. This is the sign associated with lighting-fast insights and discernment. It’s capable of rising above and looking at things from an impartial and objective perspective, much like the King of Swords.

This is the Wildwood Tarot’s version of that card — called the King of Arrows in this deck. Here we see him soaring high above a crystal clear body of water, its surface so pristine it looks like a mirror.

This is in keeping with the King of Arrows’ / Kingfisher’s penchant for clarity and altitude, as well as the searing precision that’s needed to go after his prey.

He flies high enough to get a clear overview of all the fish beneath the surface, and when he finds what he’s looking for he nose dives after it, plucking it from the depths with barely a ripple left in his wake.

The King of Swords is traditionally a rather stoic individual. He’s intelligent, articulate, moral, fair and just. He doesn’t mince words and he doesn’t suffer any fools. He has honor, integrity and principles, all of which he’s unlikely to yield.

If this is someone in your life (boss, mentor, parent, etc.) you’d do well to heed his advice. He may just offer you a perspective that you hadn’t considered.

But it can also indicate qualities you need to embrace. What is it about the Kingfisher that you could incorporate into your decision making options today? What about clarity, precision and altitude? What about flying high, getting an overview and looking at things from a different perspective?

With Mercury turning direct today it’s time to start being decisive and thinking ahead. It’s time to clear away the debris and work on attaining better focus. And it’s time to take a leaf from the Kingfisher’s book and rising above it all.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Feb 10, 2015 — Seven of Pentacles

Seven of Pentacles

Seven of Pentacles

Don’t let things get on top of you today. With Venus inconjunct Jupiter today you may feel the need to fine-tune some of the relationships in your life, or figure out a better way to communicate your needs.

This may be something large or small… from a family disagreement over the past few days to you just feeling out of sorts and also feeling out in the cold.

This type of feeling can have you wanting some alone time and this is perhaps the best thing you can do for yourself today.

It will do you no harm and it may also help you look at what you would like to do next.

There is a sense of sunnier climes overlapping this image so what you feel now can be changed in a heartbeat if you were to extradite yourself from what is troubling you.

Although the Seven of Pentacles is usually about hard work… the type of work that you are possibly a bit bored with and seems to go on forever.

This card however, gives a different view of the Seven of Pentacles. The view it gives is that even though you may be bored or feel as if you are alone and no one is supporting you there is still a place “within” you that you can escape to and dream. A place where you are not so burdened down and you have new and exciting opportunities before you.

The very fact that you can see new and exciting opportunities no matter what is weighing down you today is the message behind this image. No matter how bad things seem they will improve and it doesn’t hurt to take yourself out of life for a while to dream on what you wish for.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Feb 9, 2015 — Eight of Wands

8 of Wands

Eight of Wands

Things are moving quickly for you today, which means that you may have a full schedule ahead of you even before you walk out the door.

You’ll have to stay on you toes if you want to get anything accomplished — like the woman in this card — from the beautiful Paulina Tarot.

You also want to stay focused: otherwise you run the risk of being pulled in several different directions or going off on a wild goose chase that distracts you from your original goals.

Notice the Eight Wands are all moving in the same direction and the butterflies flapping their wings to guide them along. This is the essence of the Eight of Wands. Staying focused and present; aligning yourself with the activity going on around you so that you become a part of it rather than fighting against it.

There’s a a sense of progress and swiftness in this card, as if to say “things are happening, and they’re happening NOW.”

The Eight of Wands also a card of communications. Networking and sharing ideas. Hearing and being heard.

This is important because it may feel like certain relationships are up in the air for you today -– especially those where differences of opinion have caused them to stall them in their tracks.

This card speaks of not only communicating effectively, but also clearing the air and getting back in sync with those you may have had differences with. It can also refer to travel or messages that come (in the form of good news) from afar.

You may feel a bit overwhelmed; like you’ve got places to go and people to see, and not enough hours in the day. But as long as you stay focused today you can get a lot accomplished.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Jan 23, 2015 — Princess of Pentacles

Princess of Pentacles

Princess of Pentacles

Today is a day of learning and focusing on how you can apply what you’ve learned to your long-term goals.

The Princess of Pentacles (the Druid Craft Tarot’s version of the Page of Pentacles) — is always thinking ahead. About what she wants to do with her life (or her profession, or her studies, etc.) and how she can go about doing it.

Like all of the Pages in the tarot, there’s the promise of a wide open road ahead of you. A world of possibilities that have yet to be discovered. And unlimited resources for you to tap into.

There’s something sort of wild and unfettered about this Princess of Pentacles. She stands barefoot on a rock and gazes thoughtfully at the giant pentacle she holds in her hands. Behind her an esoteric symbol is etched into stone tablet.

As Mercury and Saturn come together today (in sextile, or 60° aspect), it’s a good time to start thinking seriously about what you can to to build toward your future. What seeds can be planted and plans can set in motion.

You may thinking of going back to school now or taking a night course. Or you may be working on your own evolutionary process. Either way it’s as much about learning as it is about applying what you’ve learned, as all of the Pages (or Princesses in this case) are in some position of just starting out.

No matter where you’re at in your journey there’s always something new to learn and some new way to improve on your skills. Whether the Princess of Pentacles is you or someone in your life, know that she”s here to remind you to never stop growing, learning or evolving.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Jan 22, 2015 — Eight of Cups

Eight of Cups

Eight of Cups

Today may see you taking steps toward leaving behind something that no longer sustains you.

The Eight of Cups refers to getting in touch with your values, which can be a painful process. It involves forcing yourself to face certain realities and walk away from something (or someone) that doesn’t live up to them.

On the upside it means taking the high road and making a transition. But that doesn’t mean it’s going to be easy. The Eight of Cups requires you to let go of something — a dream, a relationship, a set of goals, etc. — in order to move to that higher ground.

This is a card of transition, but unlike most, this one comes from conscious choice. It’s not a matter of the Universe throwing a curve-ball at you: it’s a decision arrived at though the realization that what once fulfilled you no longer does.

You may feel alone or abandoned during this time — rejected by a loved one or peers. Yet it’s your own discontent that prompts you to “walk away,” rather than keeping up the pretense that those who let you down were ever truly on your side.

This doesn’t refer to loss so much as it does to seeing things more clearly and then using that new-found clarity to head toward higher ground. Like the brightly shining crescent moon in this card, it’s about new beginnings rather than endings. You can see this card as an invitation to strike out on your own, follow your own path and pave your own way.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Jan 18, 2015 — Ace of Pentacles

Ace of Pentacles

Ace of Pentacles

There’s no time like the present for putting your plans into action and working toward manifesting your goals

The Ace of Pentacles represents the start of something new, in this case new financial opportunities. It encourages you to plant seeds that you can tend to, nurture and grow.

You may be in line for a raise or promotion, or you could learn of job opportunity that involves a bigger salary. You could also be the benefactor of someone else’s generosity. Either way, you should have more opportunities and more financial resources at your disposal than you’ve had in recent days.

You may not see a windfall, but it’s still a positive affirmation that you’re putting your energy into the right areas. With that in mind, it also serves to remind you of the importance of staying grounded and focused while you put your plans in motion.

This is such a beautiful version of the card. In this deck the Ace of Pentacles is not only framed by a pair of majestic, fertile trees, it’s a part of them. It’s a living breathing pentacle — a symbol of luck, fortune and magic.

Notice the two goddess figures carved into the branches of the trees. Or perhaps they too are alive. They’re as much a part of the Pentacle’s narrative as you are a part of your own.

The golds and corals in the sky paint a glowing backdrop that’s made even more dazzling by the crystals at the base of the card. These are repeated symbols of abundance, fertility and growth.

The Ace of Pentacles is a card of inspiration and celebration. It tells you that the seeds you’re planting today can prosper and flourish. As it’s also associated with a positive change in fortune, it’s telling you to keep up the good work, to go after your dreams, and to be open to all that the Universe has to offer.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Jan 14, 2015 — The Lovers

lovers

The Lovers

Mercury comes close to conjuncting Venus today, bringing positive messages your way. This is going to be about as close as it gets for awhile as Mercury starts to slow down now in anticipation of the upcoming retrograde.

Mercury is the planet of communication, which is also the title of today’s card. This version of the card — from the sumptuous Joie de Vivre Tarot — emphasizes travel, partnership and togetherness, which is particularly fitting with Venus a part of the mix.

The couple in card aren’t really paying attention to the road ahead of them. They’re fully engrossed in one another, as are the creatures upon which they ride.Their hands (and tails) are intertwined, making it hard to tell where one ends and the other begins. The little birdie flying overhead carries a message of love.

The lovers card is tied to Gemini, emphasizing the need for communications. That means listening as well as speaking, as can be seen with the figures in this card.

Openness and honesty are important features in any relationship and will go a long ways toward keeping the love alive.

The Mercury / Venus conjunction emphasizes the harmonious exchange of ideas. It’s about being on the same page — and moving in the same direction. Seeing eye to eye on important issues. And hearing the other person out.

This aspect is also good for short distance travel. Local errands, spontaneous gatherings and impromptu get-togethers. As the aspect never quite completes (this time around) the idea of playing it by ear and letting the day take you where it may is all the more appealing.

Whatever your plans today, leave room for spontaneity. This isn’t the time to get caught up in serious or monotonous plans. It’s more about sharing ideas with those you love, and expressing your feelings openly.
