Free Daily Tarotscope — Feb 26, 2015 — The Fool

the Fool

The Fool

Today’s Sun / Neptune conjunction may have you thinking about taking a giant leap of faith into the unknown.

The Fool card is the first card in the tarot, numbered Zero. It represents the onset of the Fool’s journey and refers to new beginnings, fresh starts, a period of awakening and unlimited potential.

The Fool card is so beautifully represented here in Gina Pace’s Pagan Tarot. In this version we meet a young female initiate stepping into the void with only her instincts — represented here by her feline companion — to guide her.

She steps gingerly out into the Universe with only her robe on her back and her familiar at her side. She touches down with her bare feet onto a pathway of stars and feels her way through the darkness.

There’s a starkness in this card and a vastness at the same time. It reminds you that there’s a great big world out there filled with possibilities; a blank canvas of opportunities with which to construct your story.

The Fool card encourages you to consider the possibilities, no matter how impractical or far fetched they may be.  But there may also be uncertainty. The young witch in this card appears a bit more cautious and timid than most. But notice she’s moving forward and gaining momentum with every step she takes.

This is the ultimate “leap of faith” card. It’s about jumping into the unknown and trusting the Universe will provide a net. Think about what new adventures are in store for you, and how suspending all beliefs and concerns can get you in the necessary mindset.

You want to think about where you may be focusing too much on the destination (outcome) today and not enough on the journey. It may not be easy to trust in this process, but the magic that can happen as a result is well worth the effort.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Feb 13, 2015 — Death

Death

Death

Don’t be afraid of the Death card — it doesn’t refer a literal death. It’s more about recognizing the need to put something you’ve been holding onto to rest.

It represents a loss or an ending: sometimes it’s a relationship and sometimes it’s a job or an emblem of security that you’re no longer going to be able to rely on.

Whatever it is, know that you’re probably not going to escape the process unscathed. Change is hard for all of us, and change that comes through circumstances beyond our control is harder still.

That’s the thing with the Death card. It’s not something you’re ready, willing and able to let go of. It’s usually just the opposite. It’s the thing you’re holding onto so desperately that has to go. And as such there may be some grieving that goes with this process.

This version of the card — an homage to the superstitions we’re all so conscious of on Friday the 13th — comes from the beautiful Tarot of Pagan Cats deck.

Here we see a black cat in a cemetery keeping vigil over his master’s grave. The Death card is also the 13th card in the major arcana, another nod to today’s date.

But with all these ominous symbols — the black cat, the headstone, the silver roses and the scythe — notice the prominent Celtic cross that takes up the largest area of the card.

There are references to Druid magic and mystery, the ancient symbols of wholeness, completion and unity. There’s the idea that letting go of something — via “death” in whatever form it takes — makes room for something else to fill its place and become whole again.

Ask yourself what you can do to replenish the things the Universe is forcing you to give up today. Cutting ties and letting go of unhealthy connections is only the first part of the process. Opening yourself back up to receive what the Universe has in store for you is the next.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Jan 13, 2015 — Nine of Cups

Nine of Cups

Nine of Cups

Venus and Uranus are sextile today, making way for unexpected opportunities to increase your luck.

Venus rules both love and money, so what better way to attract both into your life than to embrace the ideals inherent in the Nine of Cups?

The Nine of Cups is called the “Wish card.” It speaks of manifesting your heart’s desires through aligning yourself with the principles of appreciation and gratitude.

This version of the card is rich in symbolism. A giant gold koi fish leaps into the air against a blood red Moon. The silhouette of a great white heron on the other side of the card frames the fish in a yin yang formation.

These symbols represent the dynamic principles of give and take that are so much a part of the Nine of Cups message. We know that Venus — when it comes to both love and money — must move and flow in order to grow.

As an animal totem, the koi fish represents wealth and material abundance. The heron represents confidence and fearlessness. They move together in harmony in this card, illustrating the need to balance these energies in your life.

Even the colors of this card speak of fortune and opportunity. Red symbolizes action, movement and energy; gold represents prosperity and fortune, and the indigo hues in the background are tied to the crown chakra and third eye.

Along with being the “Wish” card, the Nine of Cups is also a card of Miracles. As there’s so much more focus on what one has than what one lacks, it’s easier to notice small miracles and in even the smallest things. With that in mind, Count your blessings and expect good things today!

Free Daily Tarotscope — Jan 8, 2015 — Three of Wands

Three of Wands

 Three of Wands

Today is going to be a good day to be thinking about progress you’ve made on goals you have underway as you plan your next moves.

You may feel the need to take a breather, or “rise above” it all in order to get an overview of how much you’ve already accomplished.

The Three of Wands refers to steps that have been taken and seeds that have been planted that are now starting to produce results. You can look at how far you’ve come and use that as a springboard for advancing your goals.

You can see the work in progress aspect in this card with the chain of flowers the angel figure strings together from the top of her perch. While it’s clear this has been an ongoing project, it looks like she’s hitting her stride now with the altitude she’s attained.

That’s one important feature of the Three of Wands — setting things in motion so that the work you’ve already done keeps building on itself while you expand your horizons. In doing so your project (or your goal, or your relationship) begins to take on a life of its own — much like the chain of flowers in this card.

The Three of Wands refers to creativity and adaptability as much as it does to acumen. It’s about seizing the opportunities that come your way and then incorporating them into your plans.

Notice the fox sniffing at the flowers in the background. This could spell trouble and there’s a chance our little angel will have to rethink some of her goals. But if she’s put enough of forethought into laying her foundations, she won’t have any trouble turning incidents like these to her advantage.

The Three of Wands encourages you to push past your limitations and expand your horizons. It will mean stepping outside of your comfort zone and exploring uncharted territories. And while you run into pitfalls or have to take detours along the way, know that these are often blessing in disguise that can open up a whole new world of possibilities.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Jan 7, 2015 — Five of Pentacles

Five of Pentacles

Five of Pentacles

Today you might have to look at where you may have over-extended yourself in recent weeks, particularly with year-end expenses and Holiday spending.

As Saturn and the Sun move into a hard (semi-square) aspect today, your focus may shift from feelings of joy and anticipation to the more unsettling feelings of worry, loneliness and isolation.

The imagery in this card harrowingly depicts this energy. There’s a stark, cold, uninviting landscape with a dying tree that looks almost menacing as it reaches out toward the wilting flower in the foreground.

The Five Pentacles hanging from the branches may have once been shiny and gold, but now they’re tarnished and weathered. You get the feeling that if you were to reach out and try to pluck one, the tree would come to life and fight you off — either that or it would devour you. .

The Five of Pentacles can mark a period of financial adversity, such as seeing your earnings held up or seeing your resources dwindling as a result of unexpected expenses.

As Pentacles are linked to “values,” we most often think of money. But they also relate to self-worth: it’s hard to feel good about yourself when you’re struggling — financially or otherwise.

In this respect the Five of Pentacles can also refer to feelings or loneliness or rejection. You may be feeling isolated and unsupported — but it’s important to ask yourself truthfully whether the support you so desperately crave has been there for you all along. And whether your own issues with self worth and self esteem have caused you to either miss it or reject it outright.

The flower in the foreground is a snowdrop — symbolizing purity, hope and renewal. This is something to keep in mind today, especially if you’re so focused on the tree (fear, loneliness and scarcity) and not enough on the rebirth that is possible through the message of the flower.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Jan 4, 2015 — Queen of Swords

Queen of Swords

You may have to make a decision today that’s based on logic and principle rather than intuition.

Although the Moon is in Cancer today — as beautifully referenced by the Universal Wirth Tarot version of the Queen of Swords — it may not always be in your best interests to rely solely on instincts and emotions.

The Queen of Swords is more about cutting through the confusion and uncertainty that separates wants from needs. It may be a matter of putting something you’ve wanted to rest — in the spirit of accepting that it’s just not good for you.

Or it could be as simple as speaking the truth, knowing that you’d only be hurting yourself otherwise.

In this deck we see the Queen of Swords standing in the midst of a turbulent sea. The sky is dark and ominous behind her as the waves swirl violently at her feet.

But she doesn’t waver. She’s focused and alert with her eyes on a distant horizon, and her hands clasped firmly on the sword that she uses to steady herself. The crescent Moon at her feet and the symbol for Cancer above her serve as reminders of the delicate balance between head and heart, or emotion (Moon in Cancer) and logic (Queen of Swords).

This Queen is rational and focused. She doesn’t mince words. When she speaks she chooses her words wisely and they may be biting. But she’s also fair, impartial and objective.

If this is a person in your life you’d be wise to listen to what she says. She may not cushion her words with compassion, but she will always tell the truth. if this is not someone presently in your life, perhaps it’s time to listen to your own inner voice. There’s a great deal of wisdom that can be amassed, if you’re brave enough to trust in it.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Dec 30, 2014 — Eight of Swords

Eight of Swords

Eight of Swords

Are you feeling blocked or stuck in a situation or within yourself and unable to decide what to do?

The Eight of Swords often implies you are not seeing the full picture and from this image you can see you are perhaps a little confused in what you are seeing and also how you are reacting to things.

When you look in the mirror or when you look at yourself you may not be given yourself enough credit in being able to act in your own best interests.

The image of the tree in the mirror is like a barrier which gives the message that anything you do will not work as there is a problem no matter what you try thus keeping you trapped.

This sense of feeling trapped though is usually of your own doing as Swords stand for thoughts and ways of thinking.

There are images of wisdom in this image alongside what looks like two blades coming out of the woman’s back.

Do you feel as if someone has stabbed you in the back and you are unsure who you can trust?

Perhaps you need to look inside to your own inner wisdom and strength to carry you out of your self imposed prison as there is no one else in this image who can do it for you.

The beautiful green/blue hues of this card speak of healing and communication which means if you change your thoughts you can change the world around you and release yourself from whatever is holding you back and keeping you stuck.

Thoughts flow through you mind today that are uplifting and enlightening.

It is time to rise above anything that has been bothering you and look towards new ways of thinking.

Notice that the darkest part of this image is underneath the feet yet the feet do not touch it. It is as if by rising above a situation or your thoughts on this situation that you free yourself from it.

White butterflies are seen in abundance and most of these are above the figure’s head meaning new thoughts are coming to you and these thoughts are pure and true. They will guide you and further help to set you free.

There is one butterfly held within the hands giving the impression that if you speak your truth and let it fly then you will be further released from what has held you trapped.

With the wings holding the figure aloft looking remarkable like the butterflies flying around it there is a sense of transformation especially as the majority of the butterflies are around the crown chakra which is lit up and shining.

Do not dismiss any thoughts that pass through your mind today for they are there to show you a different way of thinking.

The yellow/golds of the gown worn is also reflected in the crown chakra showing there is protection around you today. If you need to tackle something which you have been putting off then today is the day you will either confront what has been bothering you or rise above it to the point it no longer is a problem for you.

What do you have to lose? Either way you will walk away intact and unaffected with a sense of freedom.

Free Daily Tarotscope –Dec 23, 2014 — Six of Swords

Six of Swords

Six of Swords

Breath in, breath out and shake it all about. Today is a great day for travelling. Whether that travel is done internally or it is a journey you shall make it is designed to shake you up a bit and get you thinking in a new way.

You may have felt stuck within a situation and need an energy boost to see it in a new way. Look to the past for you have been where you now before. The vibrant orange/red shows that you are not as calm as you show on the outside.

There is the makings of a storm within you and this may be linked to you dredging up past memories. If you find this is the case look at how you dealt with similar situations in the past.

You may have reacted calmly and not given your true thoughts or emotions a voice which has in turn left you boiling over inside today as you are once again confronted with the energetic imprint of these thoughts and emotions.

This can be a problem if you react quickly because those around you and possibly even yourself may not understand the reactive explosion from you today. If you try to hold it in it may eat away at you and you find yourself tense and irritable with no amount of calmness overcoming.

On the bright side it seems this emotion has not fully reached your head and this means you do have the choice to act and react in ways you possibly should have in the past.

With the Holidays fast approaching you may wish to think on any imbalances around your family life and if you are still holding onto past anger that is triggered at this time of year.

Sometimes holding everything in when it should’ve been diffused previously does neither you nor anyone else any favours. It can also leave you out in the cold and feeling alone.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Dec 19, 2014 — Knight of Wands

Knight of Wands

Knight of Wands

You may be waiting for some news today or just wanting to get up and out there and do your own thing.

If this is the case don’t wait around for others to catch up with you as you have such a lot of energy today that you may need to just get out and do things on your own.

There is a certain amount of “adventure” in this card as you venture outside the safety of the walls behind you and set forth on the back of a large cat barely strapped into the harness.

The sky is bright, the day is clear and you are riding high.

It may be that you have plans you wish to put into action and are fed up with waiting for others to get back you with answers or that you simply want to do this your way.

Whatever it is there seems to be a certain amount of creativity to this new found freedom you are experiencing and you never know what is around the next corner.

It’s as if you had been inviting life experiences to land on your doorstep and when they didn’t come you decided to go out and make some life experiences for yourself.

I wonder what you will find out there today. Whatever it is you don’t look too concerned or bothered by it.

In fact you look so relaxed you could take on anything and probably will… along with a little help from your mode of transportation which looks like it could get you out of trouble faster than you would on your own two feet.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Dec 14, 2014 — Two of Cups

Two of Cups

Two of Cups

Welcome to today! There are some fantastic transits happening today which not only involve the Sun (“you”) but also Venus (“love”).

The Sun is trining Jupiter today which means things are going well for you. There may be some big bangs too as something takes off and your luck seems to have a continuous momentum with its motion.

Venus is sextile Neptune and as can be seen in this image there is a lot of balance around today.

Male and female, yin and yang, giving and taking. Although the images in this card are not showing too much emotion the other imagery shows that all is peaceful and at the same time there is an elusive healing quality with the silence that is portrayed.

The owl’s wings are spread as if to say the encompassing emotions that are around today are settling through every area of your life not just romantically.

It is a good day to think of some creative pursuit and see what this opens up for you.

The higher you look in this card the brighter the colours become almost as if you are starting from the ground up and the higher you go the better things become.

If you have had any niggling thoughts hand them over to a higher power and allow the positives to shine down upon you.

There is much self love around as well as romantic love. This is a day where you can be heard and in turn listen to others. It is a day to be happy and celebrate just how great your life is!

Free Daily Tarotscope — Dec 10, 2014 — Page of Pentacles

With Venus entering Capricorn today you can almost sense the change in energy around you when it comes to love.

The image on this card depicts a more self centred love versus the open, happy go lucky type of love seen when Venus is in Sagittarius.

Six butterflies flutter around the image. Three are perched on the figure whilst the other three fly freely.

The number six in numerology is the number for Venus and the halving of this number shows that there is balance in your emotions today. You feel the emotion, you let it go.

There may have been something that you have been holding onto recently that you have come to understand you need to let go of.

Today is the day to do this especially as you are so balanced on the outcome. All emotions flow to you and from you and this in turn gives you power over negative emotions.

The depiction of a ballerina in this image also shows that you are not only emotionally balanced but physically you are striving for health and balance in your life.

I am particularly loving the heart image in the lower right side of the card as it twines within the root system to feed and nourish loving kindness to you. It may not look too green or nourishing but it is what you give out and draw in that will change this balance for you.

With the hard decisions behind you and time to focus on yourself today should be a day to remember!
