The Star

Coming on the heels of yesterday’s Death card, what a treat it is to see such an uplifting symbol of hope and inspiration that is the Star card.

With Venus sextiling Neptune today, what better card to describe the illuminating thoughts and ideas that are running through your mind… or should I say gently coming to the surface of your thoughts in a way that is so clear and calming that you wonder why you didn’t see them before.

Any problems you have been having that you’ve been finding it difficult to find yourself clear of may start to take on a life of their own today as they fall back and you enjoy the inspirational and creative aspect of Venus sextile Neptune.

The woman in this card is transfixed on a mutli-facted Star which hovers above her open hands. She appears to be almost in a trance as she reflects on the glowing Star before her.

This is a time when you don’t have to push for answers, ideas or actions… it is a day to just sit back and daydream to the surface what you have for so long been trying to get to the bottom of.

Meditation would work well for you today as would spas treatment that puts you in a state of relaxation. Make sure you’re surrounded by peaceful, loving company and if not remove yourself from any negatives in your life because you don’t want to look at the flip side of a transit like this which translates into your hopes, dreams and wishes turning into a nightmare through absorbing others’ negativity.

Free Daily Tarotscope — May 27, 2014 — Eight of Cups

Eight of Cups

Eight of Cups

It’s time to get creative, find your centre and do things your way! With the Moon opposing Saturn and making a sextile to Jupiter this morning (as its last aspect before it goes Void of Course), you want to take enough of a breather to get clarity on your intentions and on the direction you want to take in the next phase of your personal journey.

Look at all the beautiful colours within this card. Greens for growth, blues for communication, lilac lotuses falling all around like raindrops from heaven. Chakra centres highlighted within the figure on the card notably the second chakra for creativity, third eye for intuition, heart chakra for love whilst at the same time clothed in a sea of blue and mauve robes standing for communication and spirituality flowing all around.

The Eight of Cups is a card of solitude, going it alone or taking yourself out of your daily life to gain some peace and quiet. What better depiction of this than the Lotus yoga pose on this card, which incorporates a positive frame of mind and access to higher realms of knowledge to help you on your way.

Many ideas are running through your mind and if you are open to change then this is a good time to make that change. There is a tranquility here suggesting that your mind and ideas are what will forge you forward.

You will be able to focus your mind in a way that ideas that once seemed vague now come up clearly giving you a head start in carrying them out.

Free Daily Tarotscope — May 25, 2014 — Six of Pentacles

Six of Pentacles

Six of Pentacles

Where have you come from and where are you going? The Six of Pentacles implies balancing the scales. Sometimes you gain and sometimes you lose.

In this rendition of the Six of Pentacles we see a young girl about to kiss a frog. Yes… I know what you’re thinking and you’re probably right. We all kiss a few frogs before finding our Prince or Princess Charming and it may be that we need to balance up the gains and losses of each particular “frog” we encounter to truly see what is underneath and what we are willing to take on or sacrifice in different situations.

Venus is conjunct the south node today implying that we are faced with challenges that we would rather shy away from.  As Venus is the planet of love the challenge will be emotional.

If you are looking at needing to make a decision you may find that you are focused on your past and what happened “then” versus what is really happening “now” and your thought patterns are confused by this making it doubly difficult for you to come up with an answer.

The girl in the image may also mean you are coming from your own childhood expectations of what love and relationships should be about and perhaps a bit more give and take is in order.  If you are in a relationship which is about all give and no take you need to have a good look at what you are willing to continue to do to keep the relationship afloat.

Free Daily Tarotscope — May 20, 2014 — Gemini

Gemini

Gemini

As the Sun moves into Gemini today it is a good time to look at the duplicity in your own nature or that of someone around you.

We all have different layers to our persona and do not show these characteristics to everyone we meet.  In fact, only a few of us can say we are able to share 100% of ourselves with others and even then… there remains a question mark on whether this is the absolute truth.  Perhaps there is a percentage of our real selves that we hide even to ourselves.

Enter the Sun into Gemini… a card traditionally associated with that of the Lovers in most tarot decks.  A card of love but is it love of another or love of the reflection we see of ourselves when we look in the mirror or into our own hearts as we try to fathom out what is truly real for us?

On the surface the image on this card looks to be of 2 identical women but look closely and you will see tiny differences including weight, facial asymmetry, position of hands and stars and my favourite… hair under the armpit… lol.

What may be obvious to you as you look in the mirror at your identical image may not be obvious to other people.

Others may perceive you differently to how you perceive yourself and those little flaws which matter to you are not such a big deal to them.  In other words… it’s time to accept yourself as you are… flaws and all.  What is your “ideal” may not be the “ideal” of others.

Free Daily Tarotscope — May 17, 2014 — the Hermit

the Hermit

The Hermit

With Mercury squaring Chiron today, you may feel like retreating from the hustle and bustle of your daily routine and moving toward a place of meditation and quiet reflection.

The Hermit card refers to the yearning for wisdom and knowledge that so many of us possess but so few of us take the time to seek out and develop.

In this version of the card, the Hermit stands alone in the dark, partially submerged in the ocean’s tides. He has only his walking stick and lantern to light the way.

Here we see him submerged deeply into the realm of the unconscious, as shown by the waves surrounding him in this card. Notice too how the patterns the waves make are repeated in the fabric of his cloak.

The waves — and water in general — refer to emotions, feelings, the psyche, the collective unconscious, mystery and the unknown. Water represents the feminine or yin principles of instinct and intuition, rather than logic and rational perception.

The Hermit uses the light from his lantern to look into the of the water, past the surface reflection into the murky depths.

Free Daily Tarotscope — May 16, 2014 — King of Wands

King of Wands

King of Wands

How comfortable are you feeling with your own power? The Kind of Wands is a powerful man. He is forceful and kind and likes to have his own way in all things he surveys… and who would not wish to give him otherwise for he is quite adept at whatever he sets his hand and mind to.

In this version of the King of Wands we see a figure who is quite relaxed whilst all around him everything seems to bend to his will. There’s prosperity and growth that looks as if it requires little, if any, effort by him and perhaps this is because he has others doing the hard work for him whilst he comes up with other plans.

He is a man of action but that doesn’t necessarily mean he is the one undertaking the actions for he is also a leader and may have very little patience for those who don’t do as they are told. He doesn’t need to explain himself as he knows what he wants and how to get it.

If you are on the receiving end of this type of behaviour though it may be quite frustrating, to say the least, in knowing how to perceive what his real intentions are. The King of Wands requires a strong woman to stand up to him and you don’t necessarily need to stand up to him head on. As can be seen from the lion, seemingly tamed, beneath his foot you can purr along in the shadow of his exuberance whilst he takes the lead in arranging all that needs done.

Free Daily Tarotscope — May 9, 2014 — Knight of Pentacles

knight of pentacles

Knight of Pentacles

Today you may be taking a more serious look at where you’re heading, with respect to your education, your career or your “brand.”

The Knight of Pentacles is all about taking things slow and steady, with a keen eye on the future and the discipline to keep “plodding along” as he moves toward his ultimate goals.

As with all the court cards, this can be someone presently in your life (or coming in) or it can represent a frame of mind that’s necessary for you adopt right now.

Don’t make the mistake though of focusing too much on the nuts and bolts of achieving success. If there’s any negative aspect that can be associated with this card it’s the dearth of inspiration that can lead to getting stuck in a rut of tedium and routine.

In this version of the card we see the Knight of Pentacles staring off in the distance with his faithful horse at his side. He can see that there are some hurdles to cross to get to where he wants to go, and rather than mounting his horse and making a run for it, he pauses to reflect on the best way to go about it.

Notice how he keeps his money (the pentacle strapped the horse’s side) secure and his weapon at the ready. This is a cautious Knight, and not given to taking unnecessary chances. A messenger pigeon is perched on the crumbling archway above him, looking off toward the distance as well.

Free Daily Tarotscope — May 4, 2014 — Ten of Cups

Ten of Cups

Ten of Cups

Make some time today to experience some happiness in your life.  Be thankful for everything you have in your life and don’t’ go looking for problems.

This shouldn’t be too difficult with the Moon coming into contact with Jupiter today which should see your emotions overflowing with joy… enough to melt the snow on that mountain in the distance? You bet!

If there has been something you have been troubled over and not sure what you should do about it then perhaps the answer is to do nothing at all. Instead you may wish to be like the butterfly in this card and rise about all that is going on around you seeking out new horizons.

This is not a card about adventures it is more to do with feeling content within yourself and with what you have.  There is no lack in the 10 cups… it is a card of abundance.

Take a leaf out of the image of the flowers blooming on the branches.  Nothing can hold back that growth not even with frosty conditions around.

Today is like that for you… nothing and no one can hold you back.

The reflection of what is in your heart will shine through to yourself and others around you… spread your wings and soar.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Apr 27, 2014 — King of Cups

King of Cups

King of Cups

Today you may be compelled to seek out the counsel of someone you know you can turn to for comfort and guidance.

The King of Cups is ruled by Pisces, which represents the more sensitive and gentle aspects of the masculine archetype. Although the person (or attitude) representing this card is not always a man, it does refer to the more assertive / yang energy that is traditionally associated with the male archetype. It can describe a person, an event or a state of mind.

As with all of the court cards, the Kings often represent someone coming into your life to teach you important lessons. In this case as it’s Cups, which refers to the realm of feelings, emotions, instinct and intuition.

This King is seated on a throne that rises of the ocean like a pedestal. He leans forward with a scepter in one hand a golden chalice in the other. Behind him are a sailboat and a dolphin, enjoying the clear skies and calm seas.

While this King is kind and compassionate, he can also be stern. He is not afraid of his emotions, but he doesn’t let them govern him or weaken his authority.

He’s not easily persuaded or manipulated and he doesn’t get caught up in maudlin sentimentality. The seas around him may be turbulent, but he maintains his calm as he keeps a watchful eye on the horizon.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Apr 16, 2014 — King of Cups

King of Cups

King of Cups

The King of Cups is intuitive, sensitive and wise.  And in this version, he is a she. And what, pray tell, do you think she is doing looking like a little girl in a nursery playing with her toys? If you look closely though you will see that the gown she is wearing actually mimics that of a sea.

The boat, with the young man… whose hands are held out to her, is actually sailing towards her and the sea dragons who surround him in an effort to hold him back are also creatures within the “sea” of her dress.

Today the moon is in Scorpio and it follows close on the heels of yesterday’s full moon eclipse in Libra. Whilst Libra is the sign connected to relationships… Scorpio is the sign of secrets and our unconscious desires. It is a sign of intensity and no half measures yet this image of the King of Cups says it’s ok to play around a little with what you are feeling, nothing is going to come up and grab you as long as you keep the “nightmares” away from you.

These nightmares may encompass a relationship where you are keeping the other person at arm’s length in a bid to keep yourself safe because your feelings have been hurt in the past and you are not willing to open your heart again and let them in.

If you find this is the case and the other person is willing to go through thick and thin to break down your barriers even at great risk to themselves then you may wish to cut them some slack and shake out those demons which are not only holding you back but holding the whole situation back as they stop anyone getting close to you.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Apr 12, 2014 — Nine of Pentacles

Nine of Pentacles

Nine of Pentacles

The Nine of Pentacles implies success and satisfaction with career and financial matters. However, take a closer look at the imagery in this particular card and you may find that all is not as it seems.

I’m not saying you should not feel more than a bit smug with your achievements but you may find you have an “itch” to try something different.

Do you find thoughts keep coming into your mind that you want to change something? Perhaps your job, your beliefs on success and what it personally means to you?

If you look at this card you will see 6 pentacles are on one side (left hand side) and 3 pentacles on the other (right hand side).

Take a sneaky look on the ground under the 6 pentacles and you will see a snail so perhaps the accumulation of your wealth, knowledge and security is actually making you feel as if your life is moving at a slower pace (a snail’s pace).

Now look at the side of the card with the 3 pentacles and you’ll notice an almost mirrored version of the left-hand side… the difference being there is less on the right hand side (3 pentacles) which implies if you make a decision to go in a different direction you will have less in some ways but you may actually gain in other ways.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Apr 11, 2014 — Ace of Cups

Ace of Cups

 Ace of Cups

The suit of cups denotes feelings and the Ace of Cups is no exception.  It speaks of love.  Whether this is love of self or love within a relationship it forces you to look at it and what it means for you.

In this version of the card we see a white dove perched precariously on top of the cup which looks as if it is about to tumble into a stormy sea.  Water (the sea) stands for emotions and these are looking a bit turbulent as the waves break onto what is left of the headland upon which the cup sits.

You may wish to keep in mind that even though things within your relationship (or within yourself) are not all smooth sailing you can endure through most of it and stick things out for another day (as with the farmer in the background who has been attending the fields). Underneath the cup is the field the farmer has been attending to.  Look at all the hard work he has put into it only leaving a few weeds out towards the headland overlooking the sea.  Love sometimes is not all smooth sailing.

There are ups and downs and there is endurance where both people know each other so well that there is no need to speak things through as the underlying feeling of love between them means they know the relationship will endure even through hard times and they’re both willing to put the work into the relationship to make this happen without the need for a “pat on the back” or acknowledgement from their partner.
