The Fool

Today’s Sun / Neptune conjunction may have you thinking about taking a giant leap of faith into the unknown.

The Fool card is the first card in the tarot, numbered Zero. It represents the onset of the Fool’s journey and refers to new beginnings, fresh starts, a period of awakening and unlimited potential.

The Fool card is so beautifully represented here in Gina Pace’s Pagan Tarot. In this version we meet a young female initiate stepping into the void with only her instincts — represented here by her feline companion — to guide her.

She steps gingerly out into the Universe with only her robe on her back and her familiar at her side. She touches down with her bare feet onto a pathway of stars and feels her way through the darkness.

There’s a starkness in this card and a vastness at the same time. It reminds you that there’s a great big world out there filled with possibilities; a blank canvas of opportunities with which to construct your story.

The Fool card encourages you to consider the possibilities, no matter how impractical or far fetched they may be.  But there may also be uncertainty. The young witch in this card appears a bit more cautious and timid than most. But notice she’s moving forward and gaining momentum with every step she takes.

This is the ultimate “leap of faith” card. It’s about jumping into the unknown and trusting the Universe will provide a net. Think about what new adventures are in store for you, and how suspending all beliefs and concerns can get you in the necessary mindset.

You want to think about where you may be focusing too much on the destination (outcome) today and not enough on the journey. It may not be easy to trust in this process, but the magic that can happen as a result is well worth the effort.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Nov 16, 2014 — The Wanderer

The Wanderer

The Wanderer

Venus enters Sagittarius today, bringing with it the potential for a renewed love (Venus) of travel, adventure and personal expansion (Sagittarius).

The Wanderer card (the Fool, in traditional decks) fits in beautifully with this dynamic, as it relates to being open to new experiences without regard for where they may ultimately lead.

Here we see a young woman striding toward the edge of a cliff, barefoot and unburdened by material possessions. Her arms are wide open and her gait is purposeful, even knowing that the path before her is partially obscured by clouds.

There’s a waterfall on the other side and a shimmering rainbow bridge leading to it, but if you look closely you can also see the rocky terrain far below.

A fall would be treacherous but somehow you know she’s not going to fall. Her faith and her optimism and her willingness to seize the day will see her safely to the other side.

This is the essence of the Wanderer card — and Venus in Sagittarius. It’s about taking a leap of faith and being open to going wherever the moment takes you.

At the same time, Neptune turns direct today. This Neptunian energy is reflected here in the clouds that obscure the Wanderer’s path. It’s also reflected in the concept of surrender (a Neptune key-word) that is a necessary part of taking that leap of faith.

You want to think about these concepts, especially as they apply to opportunities that present themselves to you today. It’s not the time to fret about details or focus on what could possibly go wrong.

You do want to keep your wits about you, and unlike the woman in this card you do want to watch your step. But immersing yourself fully in the journey — rather than thinking too hard or focusing too much on the destination — can open up a whole new world of possibilities for you that you won’t want to miss.

The Fool

Mercury stations today after the last few weeks being retrograde… meaning you are out of the woods but not quite with communication difficulties.

As can be seen from this version of the Fool it is as if you are wanting to go forward but not quite sure what your next step should be and there is a sense of something holding you back… as if you know your next step may be perilous but you are not quite sure why.

Not that much will stop you once you set your mind to doing something however it is not about setting your mind to doing something that is the problem here it is your mind wandering and becoming lost in what you think you want that may be your downfall.

The Fool is the first card of the major arcana and in this version the moon is new showing a new path for you or a totally different direction you may take. It’s not clear whether you are already on this course or if you are about to launch onto it as the bird doesn’t show if it is “taking off” or “falling down”.

Whichever it may be there is a sense of adventure, high spirits and lack of concerns that anything can go wrong whilst you embrace life to the fullest and throw yourself in to (or out of) your next adventure.

Unlike the bird in this card who has her eye on the moon and not the lighthouse which could be the beacon in the midst of chaos that saves her.

The Fool

What is it about today that makes you want to begin something new but you are not quite sure of the best way to go about it or the first step to take?

Opportunity is knocking on your doorstep.  There’s enough energy around you to make you start thinking twice about all that has gone before.

If there is anything around you just now that you have been wanting to change and do in a different way then today is the day to do it.

I’m not saying it will be easy as you may not know “yourself” once you start changing your course and others around you will know you even less but think of where this could take you.

The energy around the Fool  implies that you make decisions that are not based on fact and are more based on instinct.

This is neither good nor bad it is just a different way of approaching a change that may be long overdue.

Any situation that has been holding you back because you kept doing the same thing over and over again and getting nowhere could be instantly transformed into a different direction.

I’m not saying it is the right direction but it may be the impetus you need to propel you out of a bad situation and into something new.

The Fool

What would you be doing today if you had no plans, no responsibilities, and no worries?

The Fool card encourages you to consider the possibilities, no matter how impractical or far fetched they may be.

It’s a card of adventure, living in the moment and letting life take you where it may.

It speaks of innocence and fearlessness — fueled by faith in the Universe and probably a little luck. Notice the Fool waving us forward to accompany him on his journey, only moments away from falling over the cliff.

This is the first card in the tarot, numbered Zero. It’s the beginning of the Fool’s journey and refers to unlimited potential. He has all four elements (wand, cup, sword and pentacle) on his person and very little else.

There are references to both good luck (the rainbow, the butterflies, the symbols on his knapsack) and bad (the cliff, the black cat, the menacing grey clouds in the sky). And off in the distance — beyond the waterfall, kingdom and mountains — who knows what he will find at the end of the rainbow?

ARIES: Queen of Wands

You may look calm and peaceful on the outside as if you hold the secret to the pyramids within you and could endure anything.

But just look at those flames flickering at the end of each wing… almost as if you are ready to “take off” or launch into a blazing mood which comes from nowhere.

This is a time to sit back and weigh up your options without the distraction of others and what they think, say or do.

Keep your own counsel and act accordingly with what is right for you. You have your eye on the outcome and know how to achieve it.

Notice how the bird in this card keeps her eye on the dragonfly… she is not about to let anything get in her way or dissuade her from the course she has chosen.

You have the energy within you to make your dreams come true… wish wisely and don’t waste your time and energy on the mundane.

March 2014 Tarot Scopes featuring the Dreaming Way Tarot

march tarotscopes -- judgment

ARIES: Judgment

This month you’ll be thinking about how the actions and decisions you’ve made have led you to where you are today.

The Judgment card can refer to a moment of “reckoning” where all the pieces of the puzzle start to come together and you see how you’ve participated — for better or worse — in the story of your life.

With this comes two very important considerations: one — that you can take charge and make changes in your life (as in rewriting your own script) and two — that you can view other people’s choices (which have led them to their own life circumstances) with a little less judgment and a lot more compassion and understanding.

The Judgment card refers to an epiphany or awakening, during which time you realize the consequences of your actions and are thus more inclined to proceed conscientiously.

As such it gives you a chance to start anew, to be “reborn” and make changes that are in line with your understanding of karmic rewards and repercussions. It gives you a chance to redeem and unburden yourself, as you prepare to let go of the past and move toward your true life’s purpose.

The Fool

A new day is dawning for you. You’re as ready as you’re ever going to be for a change — especially one that requires you to put the past behind you and prepare for a brand new start.

There are elements of anticipation, inspiration and faith in the Universe with the Fool card. Before he can embark on his journey, he must be willing to throw caution to the wind and let the day take him where it may.

It may not be easy to trust in this process, but the magic that can happen as a result is well worth the effort.

Think about where you may be focusing too much on the destination (outcome) and not enough on the journey.

You’re undergoing a major transition and this card challenges you to be open to the process, unhindered by doubts, fears or misgivings.

Wheel of Fortune

ARIES: Wheel of Fortune

You seem to be standing on quicksand within a situation that keeps changing.

Try to gain a sense of balance for yourself within this and don’t lose any of your power by trying to follow what others are doing or not doing.

If you find yourself trying to extricate yourself from the situation which is swinging from good to bad and around in circles take a look at the 4 figures trying to balance at the bottom of the card.

What looks like strength is actually a bit precarious when you look closely and see they are all looking and/or facing in different directions.

Each of these directions gives a different view of what you are facing.

Each of these directions gives you a different answer to what you should do next.

And each of these directions only shows you a glimpse of the whole situation.

Stay still and wait for things to settle down so you are not being thrown off your balance.

July 2013 Tarot Scopes — featuring the Tarot of Trees

ARIES: The Moon

This month you may feel like you’re navigating through murky waters.

The Moon card has a lot to do with that which is hidden, beneath the surface, unconscious or undiscovered.

There is a strong emotional element inherent in this card. And while emotions are not something easily digested by Aries — particularly the “darker” emotions, such as fear, anxiety and insecurity — it’s necessary to explore them if you’re going to resolve the issues that have been hounding you.

But don’t let your imagination run away with you: there’s also some danger of reading too much into things, making mountains out of mole hills or even becoming suspicious or paranoid.

Use this time to get in touch with your emotions and to resolve whatever fears and uncertainties you have that have been holding you back.

Justice

ARIES: Justice

What is your best way forward?

What options do you have?

The Justice card implies you are ready to face a situation head on with logical thought processes.

The scales held in the left hand show a balancing of all the facts whilst the sword in the right hand shows you are ready to speak with conviction once all of the facts have been weighted up.

The situation around you does not need over emotional input for you to gain a satisfactory outcome.

You must use your mind and intellect to access the outcome you are hoping for.

This may mean you need to seek counsel with a professional who can help you with your problems and tip the scales of justice in your favor.

January 2013 Tarot Scopes featuring the Thoth Tarot

ARIES: Art

You’ll have the opportunity to re-invent yourself this month and to achieve equilibrium in your relationships.

You can turn something negative into something positive by striving for balance, harmony and composure.

This is a powerful card. It relates to the alchemical process of turning lead into gold. You can activate this concept personally by embracing that which has been resisted or denied and working to transform it.

This card is called “Art” (Temperance, in some decks). It speaks of seeking out symmetry.

It speaks of finding a middle-ground. In what areas of your life are you too inflexible, too rigid and too unwilling to hear another’s point of view?

Your challenge will be to overcome those impediments and to integrate the opposing forces in your life.
