Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Oct 30, 2016 – Nov 5, 2016:
We start this week with a New Moon in Scorpio at 5:38pm UT (or 1:38pm EDT) on Sunday. This New Moon takes place at 7° Scorpio 43″. As New Moons always represent new beginnings and opportunities to start anew, this one — in Scorpio — presents opportunities for deep personal connections with others, as well as a chance to explore the inner workings of our own psyches.
The Sabian Symbol for this degree also references the Moon: “The Silvery Moon Across the Gem of a Beautiful Lake.” This symbol speaks of gaining a better understanding of our emotions. It speaks of enlightenment and illumination, even in our darkest hours. And it speaks of seeing ourselves in the world reflected around us.
Mercury trines Neptune and sextiles the North Node, also on Sunday. This pair of aspects works very well together, as the trine to Neptune portion is both idealistic and visionary, while the sextile to the North Node emphasizes meaningful and potentially karmic connections with others. Keep in mind that this aspect automatically brings in the South Node, which is conjunct Neptune (exact on Thursday).
Also on Sunday, a Venus Saturn conjunction may see you taking a more serious look at your love life. That includes the role you play in your relationships as well as where you stand with getting your needs met. Saturn and Venus can have you looking at the glass as half full and wondering when it’s going to be your turn. The upside of this transit is that it provides incredible clarity and gets you seeing things for what they really are. But the downside is a tendency to see things as not good enough or being too focused on what is lacking.
On Tuesday, the Sun trines Neptune and sextiles the North Node. Like the Mercury / Neptune / Node transit above, this set of aspects will also pull in the Neptune / South Node conjunction, making it prominent for a good part of the week.
Starting with the Sun / Neptune trine, this aspect can increase your sensitivity to outside influences and leave you feeling more vulnerable to psychic impressions. It see you feeling melancholy but can also be incredibly uplifting. So much depends on whether you allow this transit’s propensity for tearing down walls and dissolving personal boundaries to frighten you or inspire you. If you want to make the most of it, pay attention to your dreams, meditate, get in touch with your creativity and heed your inner voice.
Since the Nodes are polar opposites, when the Sun sextiles the North Node, it will automatically trine the South Node. These aspects between the Sun and Nodes can bring people in that you’re working through past-life karma with (South Node) or creating new karma with (North Node). Of course these are often one and the same.
Pay attention to new people coming in during this time, as well as interactions that trigger you emotionally. These are harmonious aspects (trine and sextile) that should make for pleasant interactions with others, as well as opportunities to work together.
The Neptune / South Node conjunction becomes exact on Thursday, just as Mercury sextiles Pluto. As the Neptune / South Node aspect has been making itself know all week long, the main thing to add at this point is the emphasis on people entering (and exiting) your life that you feel some type of strong karmic link to. There are elements of fate associated with this aspect. Relationships that start or end during this transit are karmic in nature, so it’s important to treat them as sacred.
The Mercury / Pluto aspect is great for putting your head together with like-minded people have having some lively — albeit potentially heated — conversations. It’s all about deep thoughts and penetrating insights. But you don’t want to keep these to yourself. The sextile speaks of joining hands with others, and sharing information that causes you to stop and think.
Then on Friday, Venus squares Chiron. This aspect is more about challenges related to establishing clear boundaries and identifying personal values. You may struggle with figuring out what it is you really want and feeling deserving of it. This aspect can bring martyring tendencies to the surface, causing you to regret or feel guilty about what would ordinarily make you feel good and prompting you to make sacrifices that you’re likely to resent later on.
This aspect can put a strain on your love life by forcing you to look at unhealthy relationship patterns, such as mistaking compassion for love or pity for kindness. It underscores the potential for missing (or misreading) important social cues. The key to rebalancing this energy — at least on your end — is in adjusting your own perceptions and adapting your own approach.
Fortunately Venus gets some unexpected assistance on Saturday, by virtue of a trine to Uranus. This aspect invites you to change things up a bit, especially in how you present yourself to the outer world. Remember that Venus is in Sagittarius (the sign related to personal expansion and growth) and Uranus is in Aries (the progressive, forward thinking maverick), making this about putting your best foot forward and relishing your own unique contributions, rather than blending in with the crowd.
That’s it for this week, see you next Sunday!
