Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Apr 22, 2019 – Apr 28, 2019:
We start this week with the Sun completing its conjunction to Uranus in Taurus on Monday. This aspect is good for expressing yourself in ways that may not be conventional but can inspire tolerance and acceptance in others. As the Sun is tied to your life force, will and self-expression, while Uranus is tied to thinking outside the box, these planets joining together can be incredibly progressive and innovative.
These two planets rule opposing signs (Leo and Aquarius respectively), so bringing them together at the same degree of the same sign creates an opening for ironing out personal differences. Even so, they’re fixed sign planets coming together in a fixed sign (Taurus), emphasizing the tendency toward self-expression and individuation. This aspect encourages you to march to the beat of your own drum and express your own unique individuality in ways that inspire rather than shock.
On Tuesday, Venus conjuncts Chiron. While Venus is generally not comfortable in Aries — as the sign opposite Libra, the one it rules — this transit should see you becoming more aware of your own capacity for giving and for being able to put yourself in other people’s shoes. This is a charitable aspect that compels you to reach into the very depths of your soul — where compassion, forgiveness and understanding all reside — and bring forth that which is within you in order to pass it onto others.
Mercury is also in mutual reception with Mars. With the planet that rules insight and awareness (Mercury) in the sign related to drive and determination (Aries), and the planet that rules action and energy (Mars) in the sign related to shrewdness and agility (Gemini), we may be feeling like we can accomplish anything. This is an energetic and even audacious combination that can see us making great strides.
Pluto turns stationary retrograde on Wednesday. Pluto is retrograde for around 6 months out of every year, and is reminiscent of its mythological counterpart in which Persephone goes down into the Underworld. Pluto will remain retrograde until October 4th, when it starts its 6 month period of direct motion, followed by 6 months in retrograde motion all over again.
This is a time for turning inward and developing your own internal power, rather than unleashing it on the outer world. It’s a time for concentrating your efforts toward getting in touch with your shadow side and mastering your own darker energies. It’s a time for regeneration and transformation that lasts for several months, until the cycle repeats itself.
The Moon joins in on Thursday, crossing Saturn, the South Node and Pluto before the day is through. The Moon is debilitated in Capricorn, the sign of its detriment (as the sign opposite Cancer, which the Moon naturally rules). Combine that with its aspect to these heavy Capricorn influences, and you may see it manifesting as intense conflicts, power struggles, confrontations and mind games (among many other things).
As Moon transits are fleeting this combination may only produce short-lived effects. It references emotional and psychological changes, as opposed to material or external concerns. It encourages you to turn inward and evaluate your personal belief systems. The Capricorn Moon also refers to getting serious about your goals, your profession and your public standing.
On Friday, the Moon moves into 3rd quarter phase, at 6º Aquarius 23. The 3rd quarter moon is linked to career, reputation and outward appearances, among other things. With it moving through the innovative, progressive and somewhat rebellious sign of Aquarius, you might be thinking more about shaking things up in your professional life, or you may want to consider what you can do to help others achieve their goals.
The Moon in Aquarius emphasizes humanitarian ideals; recognizing that there’s a place in the world for all of us and that we each have something unique to contribute. It also emphasizes progress, activism and uniqueness. It speaks of figuring out who you are as a unique individual and what impact you want to make on the world at large.
Mars squares Neptune on Saturday. This transit can throw a wrench into even the best laid plans. It can see you feeling confused or distracted, and can manifest as doubting your abilities or questioning other people’s motives. Fortunately, Neptune is dignified in its own sign, and Mars is in mutual reception with Mercury. But Mars / Neptune is ambiguous in general and is prone to flights of fancy. You’ll have to figure out a way to extract the best elements of both planets if you’re going to get anything done.
That’s it for this week. See you next week!
