Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Aug 27, 2017 – Sep 2, 2017:
This week starts with a Saturn / Jupiter sextile on Sunday. This is an excellent transit for formulating long-term goals. It brings the planet associated with hard work and discipline (Saturn) together with the planet associated with growth and personal expansion (Jupiter) together in a harmonious and conciliatory aspect.
You can get a lot accomplished under the auspices of this transit, keeping in mind that it’s much better for planning and preparing than it is for actually doing. Especially since Mercury is currently retrograde. Even so, this is a good time to lay down the groundwork of important projects and to put your head together with others who are on the same page.
Mars is also still conjuncting the North Node (and opposing the South Node), an on Sunday (although this aspect was exact late Saturday night). This transit can see new people coming into your life who can spur you into action. They can motivate you to get things done, or give you the confidence to stand up for yourself.
Mercury and Venus form a semi-sextile (30° aspect) on Monday. This is a relatively common aspect, since Mercury and Venus are always close to one another along the ecliptic.
In general this transit is about being in touch with your feelings enough to put them into words, and it’s about wanting to express what you feel openly and honestly. The Mercury retrograde portion of this aspect can see you taking a trip down memory lane, or feeling the urge to reach out and touch someone from your past.
Tuesday and Wednesday are mostly made up of lunar transits which are generally fleeting and internal or emotional,. Transits involving the Moon don’t generally produce events, although they can act as triggers for other aspects.
In general, the Sagittarius Moon inspires us to think about travel, adventure, spirituality, philosophy and higher mind pursuits. It takes us out of our comfort zones and gets us thinking about how the other half lives.
This is especially true on Wednesday, when that Sagittarius Moon ticks off one fortuitous aspect after another. It sextiles Jupiter, conjuncts Saturn, trines Mars and then becomes one part of a grand trine involving the Moon, Mars and Uranus (close to exact in the early morning hours on Thursday).
Keeping in mind that Mercury is still retrograde and still reminding us to look before we leap, these transits — and the Moon / Mars / Uranus grand trine — are good for expanding our horizons, pushing past limitations and seeing all that is possible when we dare to dream big.
Mercury moving into Leo (also on Thursday) is excellent for this, even if it is still moving backwards. It is dignified, regal and proud. It’s focused on honesty, dignity and integrity, and commands (demands) respect.
With Mercury in Leo — where it will also turn direct next week and start moving forward again — it’s a time for expressing your feelings for others without hesitation or fear. Mercury in warm, expressive, benevolent Leo wants to impress. It wants to communicate through words and through grand and extravagant gestures.
Mars and Chiron are inconjunct on Friday. This aspect may be a bit The inconjunct to Chiron is a bit less audacious. It can trip you up if you get to thinking too much or trying too hard to identify your goals. You may be trying to find ways reconcile your spirit warrior energy (Mars) with your wounded healer energy (Chiron).
Because Mars is still also involved in a grand trine to Uranus (the planet associated with humanitarian impulses) and the Moon (feelings, emotions, the unconscious mind), a good way to satisfy these competing urges would be to find a social cause that you can devote yourself to and then throw yourself into it wholeheartedly.
We end the week on a very positive note, with Mars trining Uranus again on Saturday. This a recurrence of the exact same aspect that took place on (before Uranus turned retrograde), but this time it’s involved in the above-mentioned grand trine.
This is a high-energy aspect that can have you feeling like you can succeed in anything you set your sites on. There’s not a lot of forethought there; it’s all action, energy and innovation. It’s moving forward in leaps and bounds, breaking through whatever has held you back in the past and pushing past limitations.
That’s it for this week. See you next week!
