Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Dec 2, 2019 – Dec 8, 2019:
We start the week on Monday with Jupiter moving into Capricorn for the first time in almost 12 yrs. It joins Venus, Saturn, Pluto and the South Node which are already there. Jupiter is said to be in its Fall in Capricorn, as the enthusiastic, bombastic and over the top Jupiterian energy may feel stifled under Saturn’s more restrictive and oppressive domain.
But there are a lot of positive attributes associated with Jupiter in Capricorn. It’s just as ambitious as any other Jupiter is, but it brings with it more hard work, discipline and perseverance than any other sign. As Jupiter is associated with growth, personal expansion and higher mind ideals, it may be frustrated by the traditionally reserved Capricorn energy. But it’s also more likely to take those far-fetched Jupiterian ideal and turn them into reality.
On Tuesday, Mercury sextiles Pluto while Venus conjuncts the South Node and sextiles Mars. Starting with the Mercury / Pluto aspect: this aspect can ease the way to compromise and open communications. It’s great for putting your head together with like-minded people have having some lively — albeit potentially heated — conversations. This aspect is all about deep thoughts and penetrating insights. But you don’t want to keep these to yourself. The sextile speaks of joining hands with others, and sharing information that causes you to stop and think.
The Venus transits both tied into relationships, with the conjunction to the South Node being more about meaningful and potentially fateful connections with others. It signals the entrance of people we’re karmically linked with from past lives, as well as the exit of those who are no longer facilitating our growth. There are elements of fate associated with this aspect. Relationships that start or end during this transit are karmic in nature, so it’s important to treat them as sacred.
The sextile to Mars is more playful and passionate. Its known for bringing love and romance to the forefront. This transit is all about going with the flow and staying in sync with your loved ones. It’s good for attracting new people into your life and for collaborating rather than putting up resistance.
Mars trines the North Node on Wednesday, automatically sextiling the South Node, since the Moon’s Nodes are always in opposition. This aspect is great for working with others on shared goals and ideals. It speaks of cooperation and collaboration, putting partnership or group needs ahead of individual ones.
This is especially fortuitous, because Mars is dignified in Scorpio and because also on Wednesday (for a few hours at least) there’s a Moon in Pisces which exactly trines them both, turning this into what’s called a Grand Water Trine. This is a really harmonious aspect that can lend some much-needed tranquility to an otherwise tumultuous period.
The Moon is still in Pisces but is also void of course for a good part of Thursday — from about 8 am until it moves into Aries late in the day. The void of course Moon is a common occurrence; it marks the period of time between the Moon’s last aspect in one sign and its ingress into the next. And while you may feel (at least temporarily) adrift in a sea of uncertainty, this shouldn’t be a major concern.
Any aspects involving the Moon are temporary are likely to fly by almost imperceptibly. But that doesn’t mean this period of time will be uneventful. There are still always transits in play: planets interacting with one another and blending or communicating their unique energies.
By Friday the Moon will have moved into Aries and formed several somewhat ephemeral aspects, most significantly a square to Venus which is out of bounds all week. This is a bit of a tricky transit even though it’s relatively short lived. The Moon in Aries is lively, free-spirited and adventurous. It’s wide-open to to the world of possibilities, facing whatever comes its way without fear or trepidation.
But Venus in Capricorn is more reserved, inhibited and “proper.” It doesn’t like to jump into anything let alone allow itself to be taken on a risky adventure. As a result there may be some conflicts in the social arena. As out of bounds planets are known to be erratic and unpredictable, this one may see you responding to ambiguous social cues, or sending them out yourself.
We end the week with a couple Neptune aspects on Sunday: namely a square to the Sun and a sextile to Venus. The square to the Sun can see you feeling unsure about yourself and questioning your own self-worth as well as how you may be perceived by others. This aspect can manifest as insecurity, self-doubts, and hypersensitivity to criticism.
You may be struggling to figure out who you really are and what you really stand for. The Sun / Neptune square can cloud your vision, especially with respect to your identity (the Sun). Don’t fall into the trap of comparing yourself to others, or looking for ways to emulate them.
Fortunately there’s also the sextile to Venus, which is much more pleasant. Especially as Neptune is the higher octave of Venus and these two planets “holding hands (sextiling) one another emphasizes their respective influences. The sextile aspect relates to assistance and cooperation. The Venus / Neptune combination is often present in relationships that are based on spiritual, creative or altruistic notions.
This transit is excellent for tapping into your psychic abilities and can also be instrumental in creating soul connections with romantic interests. There are unconditional love aspects to the Venus / Neptune sextile but be careful: it’s also associated with escapism and self-deception, such as relationships where neither party sees the other one clearly. This transit can also manifest as co-dependency or escapism.
That’s it for this week. See you next week!
