Here is the Ask the Astrologers Forecast for the week of Feb 1, 2021 – Feb 7, 2021:
This week begins on Monday with Venus moving into Aquarius and in mutual reception with Uranus. Venus in Aquarius is independent and open-minded. It’s a friendly, sociable placement with a penchant for quirkiness and eccentricity. It’s self-reliant and autonomous, with progressive social values and an interest in humanitarian ideals.
This transit is good for exploring your views on relationships and what makes them unique. It’s good for throwing out preconceived notions, and being more tolerant of the many different relationship styles. It’s also excellent for expressing your own individuality and acknowledging the same in others.
But make sure you’re not stepping on anyone’s toes, as there’s a Sun / Mars square on Monday too. This transit is much less interested in being cooperative and a lot more apt to be aggressive or defiant.
The square aspect pits one planet’s energies against the other, and with both the Sun and Mars debilitated by sign, no one is likely to win. Mars is action, energy and drive — all commendable traits. But pit it against the Sun (ego, will, personal expression) and it can bring out the less savory Martian impulses, like anger, aggression and impatience.
Tuesday’s Libra Moon can help to smooth things over with several harmonious aspects (trines) to the Sun, Jupiter and the North Node. Depending of whatever other transits might be in play in your personal chart, this should be a relatively peaceful day.
The Libra Moon is known for fairness and objectivity. It’s good for any kind of interactions that call for cooperation and collaboration. And while lunar transits are generally fleeting, this is a graceful, conciliatory archetype that seeks to set aside differences and bring people together in harmony.
On Wednesday, there’s a Mercury / Pluto semi-sextile which is both penetrating and insightful. In its higher vibration, it emphasizes clarity, logic and precision. It cuts through confusion and uncertainty, at least enough to get things done.
But remember Mercury is also retrograde. And as communications tend to be skewed during that cycle, you might also see an influx of suspicion, paranoia, intrusive thoughts or compulsive behaviors during this time. As semi-sextiles act as instruments of transition from one sign archetype to the next, the goal should be to find ways to express the higher vibrations of each of these archetypes.
The last quarter Moon takes place on Thursday at 16° Scorpio 07is which squares the Sun (as all last-quarter Moons do) and opposes Mars in Taurus. This creates a Fixed T-square involving Sun, Moon and Mars, with the Sun at the focal point.
The last quarter Moon is tied to the outer world, ie our professional aspirations and public standing. As a result, this is normally a good time to think about how how our actions are aligning with our career goals and reputation.
But this one may be troublesome, with the planets associated with ego (the Sun), emotions (the Moon) and anger (Mars) all butting heads. Add to that the fact that they’re all in fixed signs, and and it can manifest as conflicts and power struggles. Use this transit to figure out what is and isn’t working for you and make the necessary adjustments.
Some of this energy spills over into Friday when that same Scorpio Moon makes one final aspect (a square to Mercury) before it goes void of course. The Moon is debilitated in Scorpio (the sign of its Fall) and the hard aspect to Mercury can see you dealing with people who are thin skinned, defensive and / or irrational.
Make sure it’s not you taking everything personally though, as Mercury (while retrograde) turns that frame of reference inward which can skew your perceptions. The Moon goes void at around 9 am (UT) and moves into Sagittarius later in the afternoon.
Venus conjuncts Saturn and sextiles Chiron on Saturday. The Venus / Saturn portion of this aspect can see you taking a more serious look at your love life. That includes the role you play in your relationships as well as where you stand with getting your needs met. Saturn and Venus can have you looking at the glass as half full and wondering when it’s going to be your turn.
The upside of this transit is that it provides incredibly clarity and gets you seeing things for what they really are. But the downside is a tendency to see things as not good enough or being too focused on what is lacking.
Keep that in mind because the sextile to Chiron is more about putting your own needs aside. It can see you becoming more aware of your own capacity for giving and for being able to put yourself in other people’s shoes. This is a charitable aspect that compels you to reach into the very depths of your soul — where compassion, forgiveness and understanding all reside — and bring forth that which is within you in order to pass it onto others.
Venus has been quite active this week, and that continues into Sunday with a 90° (square) aspect to Uranus. This can be a bit of a “hold onto your hats” transit as we have the planet associated with love, romance, affection etc. (Venus) pitting itself against the planet associated with sudden change and erratic behavior.
Even with Uranus being disposted by Venus (currently in placed in the sign Venus rules), this transit can signal a time of disruption in relationship. It can can manifest as erratic or unstable behavior. It can bring people into your life — or tear them out — with lightning fast speed. It pits the urge to merge (Venus) against the desire for freedom and independence (Uranus).
As a result, conflicts can erupt — from seemingly out of nowhere — in both your personal relationships and your interactions with others. This transit can introduce you to people who challenge your way of thinking. But it can also see you on a completely different page from those you were aligned with in the past.
That’s it for this week! see you next week.
