Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Mar 4, 2019 – Mar 10, 2019:
There’s a lot going on astrologically this week, with one planet (Uranus) changing signs, another planet (Mercury) changing direction, and a Sun / Moon (New Moon) / Neptune / Vesta conjunction all at 16º Pisces.
We start the week on Monday with a Balsamic Moon in Aquarius which semi-sextiles Saturn and the Sun in the early morning hours and then sextiles Jupiter later in the day. The Aquarius Moon is about being innovative, open-minded and progressive. While the aspects to Saturn and the Sun may be somewhat sobering, the sextile to Jupiter makes it easier to the the glass as half full.
It’s a good time to think about making a difference in your community, on even the smallest scale. The Moon in Aquarius at the midpoint between Sun and Saturn can make it easier to align yourself group interests and efforts. This transit can see you looking out for the greater good rather than focusing only on your own needs.
Mercury goes stationary retrograde on Tuesday at 29º Pisces, a critical degree. Everyone who knows anything about astrology seems to know a little about Mercury retrograde. In general it means that Mercury-ruled things go a little haywire. Communications tend to run amok, plans get turned on their head, communications devices (computers, electronics, cell-phones, etc) and written communications (emails, texts, letters, etc.) get lost or misconstrued. It’s not a good time to sign contracts or legal documents and not a good time to purchase Mercury-ruled items (automobiles, televisions, computers and so on).
The good news is that the world really does keep on turning when Mercury goes retrograde. People do fall in love, get married, have babies, win lotteries. In other words, the “unexpected” is not always such a bad thing. So expect the unexpected, and be on the lookout for a few curve-balls to be thrown your way — as well as some unanticipated gifts and surprises — over the next three weeks.
On Wednesday Uranus re-enters Taurus, where it may an earlier appearance (between May and November, 2018) before retrograding back into Aries. Before that, the last time Uranus was in Taurus was from 1934 to 1942. As Uranus is known as the “great awakener” and Taurus is linked with money, security and sustenance, we can expect to see lots of changes in these areas.
That’s not always a good thing. Uranus is known for being unpredictable and erratic as well as innovative and progressive. It’s tied to anarchy, revolution and upheaval, as well as progress and change. As a result, we’re likely experience similar themes of erratic political and financial upheaval that we did in the 30’s an early 40’s.
As Taurus is an earth sign this can manifest as earth changes and natural disasters, too, as well as conflicts erupting over countries defending their turf. Fortunately Venus is now in Aquarius, which puts it in mutual reception with the Uranus. Hopefully this will help to ease the transition a bit.
Another thing that can help is the New Moon on Wednesday at 15º Pisces 42, which is involved in a partile conjunction with the Sun, Neptune and the asteroid Vesta.
The Sun and Moon are always conjunct at a New Moon of course. But adding Neptune and Vesta to the mix really accentuates the mystical, ethereal and dreamlike qualities associated with this archetype.
As New Moons always represent new beginnings and opportunities to start anew, this one presents opportunities for us to explore our dreams, get in touch with our intuition and to strive to be more sensitive, compassionate and loving.
This is a very feminine and rather other-worldly New Moon placement. We can put to good use to this energy by thinking about what is most meaningful, and what we can do to cultivate it during this time.
The Sun and Neptune don’t actually complete their conjunction until Thursday. It’s in effect for several days of course, but doesn’t perfect until around 1:00 am (UT). This transit can see you feeling inspired to make your dreams a reality or it can see you escaping into a world of fantasy and delusion. It’s a highly receptive aspect that may see you lacking in boundaries but full of creative potential and Utopian ideals.
It can also deplete your energy levels and see you spending the day dreaming about long-term goals rather than making headway toward accomplishing them. But it’s good for fantasizing about the future and envisioning the changes you’d need to make in order to make your dreams a reality.
The next aspect the Sun makes is a sextile to Saturn on Saturday. This aspect is incredibly disciplined and productive. It’s also focused, rational, goal-oriented and ambitious. It can see you getting a lot accomplished in your personal life as well as in the workplace.
This is a good time to make plans and to assess progress that’s already been made. It’s an transit, so if you want to get something done now is the time to do it. And this is serious business: you may not feel like putting your party hat on over these two days, but you can get a lot accomplished.
We finish the week off with another sextile — Mars sextile Neptune — on Sunday. This is a gentle warrior aspect, much like Mars in Pisces. It can manifest as a desire to stand up for those who are unable to stand up for themselves. It can also make it easier for us to see and acknowledge other people’s points of view.
This transit is sensitive, creative and idealistic. You may find that your intuition and psychic perceptions are off the charts during this time. The Mars / Neptune aspect can see you tuned into the music of the spheres like never before. This aspect reminds you that you are one with the Universe and everyone in it. It’s creative and compassionate and can inspire you to become a better person.
That’s it for this week. See you next week!
