Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of May 27, 2019 – Jun 2, 2019:
This week starts on Monday with a 3rd quarter Moon in sensitive, dreamy, idealistic Pisces. It conjuncts Neptune, sextiles Saturn and Venus, and squares Mercury before the day is through.
The Moon in Pisces is loving, compassionate, creative and highly impressionable. It can increase psychic awareness and make you more susceptible to outside influences. It’s mystical and ethereal, but can also be incredibly naive.It’s not good at filtering out negative or harmful information, and can therefore be easily deceived.
On Tuesday, the Moon — still in Pisces — sextiles Saturn, Pluto and the South Node, and then squares Jupiter. The sextiles are all generally supportive aspects: in fact those Capricorn planets can help to ground the nebulous qualities associated with this Moon, making it easier to bridge the gap between fact and fiction.
The square to Jupiter is a little trickier. It’s known for overly dramatic (or melodramatic, since it’s a Pisces Moon) emotional displays. It can be bubbly and exuberant, but it can also be flamboyant and extravagant. This is not the time to make promises you might not be able to keep, or to offer unsolicited advice. This aspect can amp up some of the already super-charged emotional tension you’re dealing with, so don’t make any important decisions during this time.
But Wednesday’s Aries Moon both squares and forms a mutual reception with Mars. The square to Mars is generally not pleasant — especially since Mars is debilitated in Cancer, the sign of its detriment. And with the square aspect representing conflict and crisis, you may feel somewhat impatient or irritable, or you may be subjected to irrational outbursts from others.
The mutual reception can hopefully water down some of that energy, as they tend to strengthen the natural influences of the planets involved, uniting them together in collaboration. In this case, with Mars “receiving” the Moon (and vice versa), the angry, impatient and irrational side of Mars will hopefully be tempered by the loving, sensitive and nurturing side of the Moon.
On Thursday, there’s a square from Neptune to Mercury and a sextile from Neptune to Venus. The square to Mercury — even with both planets dignified in their own signs — will likely manifest as confusion, uncertainty, suspicion and doubt.
It’s not the best time to sign contracts or lay down any concrete plans. It’s best used for tapping into our creative potential. For dreaming, visualizing and conceptualizing. Use this time to get in touch with your spirituality or work on creating something inspiring during this time, and save the nuts and bolts (left brain) decisions for another day.
The sextile to Venus is especially nice, as Neptune is the higher octave of Venus and these two planets “holding hands (sextiling) one another emphasizes their respective influences. The sextile aspect relates to assistance and cooperation. The Venus / Neptune combination is often present in relationships that are based on spiritual, creative or altruistic notions.
This transit is excellent for tapping into your psychic abilities and can also be instrumental in creating soul connections with romantic interests. There are unconditional love aspects to the Venus / Neptune sextile but be careful: it’s also associated with escapism and self-deception, such as relationships where neither party sees the other one clearly. This transit can also manifest as co-dependency or escapism.
Venus sextiles the North Node and trines Saturn on Friday, just as Mercury moves into opposition to Jupiter. Starting with the Venus transits: the trine to Saturn describes a need for careful consideration of what you value and where you stand in your relationships. It makes for a good time to sit down and have a heart to heart talk with a loved one. It brings depth and wisdom to your thinking, especially regarding matters of the heart.
The sextile to the North Node (which will automatically trine the South Node) can bring people into your life who want nothing but the best for you. Hold onto them and cherish their presence in your life. It can heighten your awareness of the beauty and grace that surround you even in the midst of turbulent times. This is a good image to hold onto (and to strive toward) as we move toward the end of the week.
With the Mercury / Jupiter opposition, you want to make sure you’re not projecting unrealistic expectations onto others. You may find yourself reading too much into what other people say or promising way more than you can deliver. Moderation is always the key with oppositions (especially those involving planetary pairs as in the case with Mercury and Jupiter). You want to find the middle ground here: in this case between what you believe in (Jupiter) and how you express those beliefs to others (Mercury).
Venus inconjuncts Jupiter and Mercury inconjuncts Pluto on Saturday. The Venus / Jupiter aspect can see you having a hard time establishing boundaries, especially with respect to personal indulgences. When is enough enough, or when is it too much? This is what you’ll have to be asking yourself during this transit — especially with as Mercury inconjuncts Pluto at the same time.
The Mercury / Pluto aspect is likely to be a bit darker. It shouldn’t be too bad — as long as you’re honest with yourself and others. This is not the time to play mind games or engage in power struggles. This is an intense and somewhat suspicious aspect that can see you reading too much into the intentions of others.
As we settle into the weekend, we have lots to look forward to — starting next week with two planets (and an asteroid) changing signs, and out of bounds Mars and Mercury, and a New Moon in Gemini.
