Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Oct 8, 2017 – Oct 14, 2017:
We start this week with a Venus / Saturn square on Sunday. This aspect can bring relationship problems to the forefront. It can manifest as feeling lonely, rejected or left out. It can see you feeling like you’re not getting your needs met and if so you want to look at whether you’ve been too unsure of yourself to ask. It may not be the best time to put your heart on the line, but this aspect is good for getting clarity, for better or worse.
There’s also a Sun / Mercury conjunction on Sunday. This aspect paves the way for effective communications, especially since it takes place in tactful, objective, diplomatic Libra. The exact conjunction places Mercury directly in the heart of the Sun, or “cazimi’: a condition that is said to energize the planet involved, in this case Mercury.
Mercury moves ahead and squares Pluto on Monday. This aspect is associated with intrusive thoughts, anxieties and fears. It can feel like your mind is playing tricks on you, convincing you that something is real based on rudimentary “facts.” You want to be careful not to let your imagination run away with you, lest you find yourself growing increasingly paranoid.
This aspect is great for ferreting out hidden information but is not so good at evaluating it objectively. You may be in danger of jumping to conclusions, so if you notice yourself getting fixated on something and feeling the urge to act, step back, take a breather and re-evaluate it in a couple days.
The Sun follows suit on Tuesday and squares Pluto too, just as Venus opposes Chiron. The Sun / Pluto square can be extremely volatile. It can erupt into power struggles or confrontations with others. Intense anger (rage), trust issues and overreactions are all potential manifestations of this transit, which can fortunately be tempered by the Venus / Chiron aspect.
This theme of establishing clearer boundaries and identifying your personal values reverberates throughout the week with these ongoing Venus transits. Are you struggling with doubts and insecurities about your own self-worth? Or are you striving to let go of associations that have held you back or prevented you from achieving personal fulfillment? These are Venus opposite Chiron motifs.
Also on Tuesday, Jupiter moves into Scorpio for the first time in 12 years. (It will also remain in Scorpio for the next 11 yrs and 11 months, ie until September of 2013.) This transit marks the onset of a whole new cycle, with the focus on depth, passion, intimacy and psychological intensity.
Mars squares Saturn on Wednesday. This aspect is often likened to having the pedal to the metal and driving full speed ahead (Mars) and plowing into a brick wall (Saturn). It can be tremendously frustrating as you’re raring to go and the Universe is putting roadblocks in your path. Especially around mid-day when the Moon joins in and turns this aspect into a t-square (with Saturn at the apex).
No matter what you try to accomplish during this time, know that Saturn has the upper hand and that you will be met with challenges. It’s not the time to engage in any confrontational (or legally questionable) behaviors as you’re unlikely to come out unscathed. Try to respect the wisdom of Saturn and accept that whatever limitations are in place are there for a reason, which will likely reveal itself to you in time.
On Thursday, Mercury sextiles the North Node (which means that it simultaneously trines the South Node since the lunar nodes are always in direct opposition to one another). This is a good time to rally your friends together and share ideas and interests. It’s about joining together with like minded people in whatever capacity.
This is especially good for social or group-related events — conferences, workshops, board meetings, etc. — where Mercury in Libra and the Leo / Aquarius Nodes can be put to good use.
Mercury next moves into a sextile to Saturn, which is exact on Friday. This aspect is good for making plans or ironing out important details. As Mercury is in Libra and Saturn is in Sagittarius, you may be thinking about taking a trip or going back to school.
You could be putting a serious dent in any research you’re doing that involves scientific or step-by-step analysis. This aspect is also good for serious discussions that require you to get to the heart of the matter.
The Sun sextiles the North Node on Saturday, thus also automatically trining the South Node. Aspects between the Sun and Nodes can bring people in that you’re working through past-life karma with (South Node) or creating new karma with (North Node). Of course these are often one and the same.
Pay attention to new people coming in during this time, as well as interactions that trigger you emotionally. These are harmonious aspects (trine and sextile) that should make for pleasant interactions with others, as well as opportunities to work together.
Also on Saturday, Venus moves into Libra. Venus is at home in Libra, the sign it co-rules with Taurus. The Libra version is all about objectivity, tact, diplomacy and grace. It’s about striving for harmony in relationship and interacting socially with others rather than engaging in conflict.
It’s also about appearances: looking good and surrounding yourself with beauty. Playing nice — even if it means setting your own interests aside in order to accommodate others. It’s about partnership, cooperation and collaboration. This is an agreeable, conciliatory energy that you can use to your advantage as it brings people together whose main objective is to get along.
